Sicko

We COULD get healthcare for me and my mom from the state, however she is currently in another state on family business that was suppose to last no more then 2 weeks. its been 4 months now because she can't afford to come back, and when she does we can get healthcare. So anyone who is in poverty and can't afford good healthcare, the state should provide. so really yeah anyone can get healthcare, its just if they want good healthcare they gotta pay. Either way I still believe Canada's is better.

Blah blah blah. I live right outside Detroit buddy, I know what poverty (at least in America) looks like, and most if not all of those folks could pull themselves out of it if they wanted.

You neglected to answer my root question. Have you ever had a time when you needed medical help but were unable to get it?

are you kidding me?
Am I even going to reply to this?
Yea, Charitys never help anyone that "needs" it of course, even know when 1 guy in a local not very known newspaper got hurt, Charitys from other states were flowing in to help him. Seriously, do a little bit if research before you post. And also, don't just say that "that was a 1 time shot" because it's not, it happens all the time.

Exactly. Medical suppliers tend to give medicines at cost to those in need (i.e. Aids relief in Africa, Free Clinics, etc). You don't need to get any media attention at all to get help. Airlines will fly people in need to locations for special procedures for free (thousands each year, I know Northwest does it at the very least), Hospitals work off donations to help kids with cancer (St. Judes), no media attention there. Ghost, why don't you type in the following web address before you release any more ignorance: www.google.ca -- And you say I'm thick...

Gnomey, all i can say is that you are thick. I hope you get hurt really bad and ur health care insurance denys you. Every poins you have made is complete BS! You don't honsetly belive that a cahirty will help you? Do you have any idea how much media attention you have to get before a bloody charity help you. That's why you hear about charitys helping people beacuse they got media attention first. Also, if your born with a medical probelm what insurance company is going to insure you? Also, we don'y pay for imigrants anymore then you do. If your not a canadien citizen and you don't pay taxes you don't get health care. And even if they do somke a person is a person. Thats like saying if you don't like someone let them DIE! Bloody hell mate im not god so I can't say your beliefe stem is messded up but I sure as hell would like to. Lets have a go at each others throts over MSN and not a forum batter my msn is [email protected]. Lets have a debate. As a matter of fact lets all have a debate, might be fun. PM me for a time and a date and what side your on and ill PM you back the details.

Yes, I do believe a charity will help. Here in America, our charities choose who to donate to, and as such are much more effective and recieve much more donations than yours do. If my insurance denys me (which it won't, thats why I put money into a good coverage) then I could always look for those charities, because my insurance covers everything but extreme "acts of God", which is what those charities are made to help. Umm, many insurance companies offer insurance before you're even born (that starts on Day 1). Many insurance companies offer insurance regardless of medical health. If the insurance is provided through your business (The most popular way Americans get their health coverage I believe) that company can't deny you benefits (in most cases). If not, there are thousands on thousands of charities out there to help those extreme cases where all else failed. Yes, a person is a person. But if they choose to smoke despite the risks, aren't they ruining my life by using up all that money? I'll have to work longer to pay for smokers, hypochondriacs, and the whole lot of them that know better and don't care. If they want to risk their life, well that's their choice! But here in America, we don't penalize others for one persons dumb decisions with their life. After all, if they didn't care before, why should they care after?

I prefer to select my own time to discuss topics. I don't see why the forums aren't just as good of a medium as MSN. Plus, Shredder can chuckle to himself as he reads my posts and imagines what pieces he could pull apart and counter. Our priorities differ, so it's often an interesting debate.

Look mate, every institution you named give the worst health care services around thats why they are free. Also your numbers were in the thousands, are you saying that these instututions can only help thousands of people and leave the other millions to die?

Oh and fair enough on the debate its just getting trying seeing biased facts posted when you really have no idea whats happining. I am not calming I have any more insite then you, in fact i probably have less. The fact is there are always flaws in every system and you havent meconded any of them.

Millions aren't without health insurance AND in dire need of medical help. They don't provide bad health care, St. Jude's has better rates for children cancer survival than many specialty clinics. Your hospitals are free, are you saying they provide bad health care? Your logic is greatly flawed. Your hospitals recieve very little money from the government. Places like St. Jude's recieves a pretty good to great amount of money from donations. Money all spends the same, and at those places people actually care about their patients. Your medical system has produced jack shit in medical advances recently compared to the US, and free or not our hospitals would be better (if they weren't already) if you weren't fortunatly able to mooch of the advances of other nations. Canada does hardly anything internationally to help folks, probably because they don't have enough internally. Don't talk to me about letting millions die. If you're going to say everyone deserves medical care regardless, then wait to critisise the US when your government starts sending some treatment to third world countries.

Don't double post. The only thing I hae to scroll through more than your signature vouch is your user info and vouch twice. Oh, and everyone else is proposing biased opinions and facts my ass. Michael Moore's proposals to mend the system were stupid and inapplicable to the US. He took Cuba's shitty health care system and used card stacking to make the US sound bad. The only thing he does more than lie is eat, he should try stopping both. If there is no perfect health care system, how can we mend more? I see many folks in need of welfare, free insurance, etc like dogs (not trying to be offensive, and it's not everyone. It's the select few who have the ability to help themselves and don't, read the analogy before whining about it), if you give the dog a treat when it does something well, then it will learn there are rewards for doing what it's told. If you give the dog a treat for not completing high school, getting fired from their part time janitorial job, sitting on their couch watching TV while soaking up welfare, and not trying to improve, they're likely to continue to do that.

You have some odd isues just beacuse you don't have a sig means you hate everyone elses? Have you even looked at my sig it'k like 6 lines. Your complaning just for the sake of complaning

On what fact are you basing you assumptions? Have you ever experience Canadian health care? I've experienced American and even with insurance that I had through my traveling agency (And it was very good insurance) I still had to wait 15 hours to see a doctor. That's a ridiculous wait time. I had a spiral fracture which is not a minor injury. Also we are no where near underfunded for our health care systems. You (most likely speaking in spite and having never experienced our health care system would not know this) And on what grounds can you declare whether or not an institution or organization care about people? You can't generalize that Canadian hospitals don't care. That's like me saying you government doesn't give a shit about you. And as for medical supplies to other country's your in Iraq for oil, your only helping the poor out because you have to maintain the illusion that your actalluy there for a moral cause. Oh and I have researched my points here unlike your unintelligent ramblings of a 3 year old saying @My countrys better then your county because I say so" So fianlly yes I will critizise your Contry with fact, unlike the BS fiction your coming up with

the us does have a horrid health care system period, I have yet to see anything but this guy he sounds like a jackass from what I have heard, the way our health care is it just bearly keeps our elderly people alive, and people with a low income get about the same respect, instead of us sending millions\billions and even trillions of dollars to these leeching countries that will never really benefit us why dont we spend that money on improving healthcare cleaning up the homeless problem more (has already done a fairly good start with this situation in some of the bigger cities) I really honestly dont think any of you have a right to talk about this situation the way that you do because you have not experianced it yourself, im guessing you are all atleast middle class (the ones that live in the us).

You have a paragraph of a run on sentences... I come from a family with low income, and we get insurance. Explain how 'our health care is it just bearly keeps our...people with a low income get about the same respect'. My family isn't treated like crap at hospitals, appointments, etc.

I asked what you thought of the movie and it's led to this.
So is this thread talking about the movie? If so, shouldn't this be in General discussion..

Its a disscusion about a socmentary and it belongs in this section mostly cause a Mod moved it here lol so i'm not gona argue with them

actually my mother works in a hospital, they turned down a guy for heart transplant surgery because he had no insurance.....my mom had to care for him as he knew he was going to die... sad thing... you can get in the bed(door), but that doesnt mean youll be treated...sad really...i'd rather have higher taxes...
