Should I stop smoking pot?

lols , it's true tho, you could do it if u enjoy it ive done it but never my self always with people to make things good. and dont do it at school just fucks everything up i went high to school one day and got 2 40's on 2 exams since that day i never went high again .

 

Are you serious? It doesn't take a doctorate in science to see how weed effects people after several years of abuse. You think slower, you phase out [when you're not high], you can't hold an intelligent conversation, etc. These are the changes I've seen in my friends. If you smoke pot, you wont be able to tell the difference. Don't even try and argue this, the only person you're convincing is yourself.

 

I try to stay as pro weed as I can because I personally enjoy it myself but to everyone debating about whether or not it burns you out or anything like that:

There are people who can handle their weed and people who can't handle their weed. Same as with alcohol. Yeah, link me to all the studies you want and shit but speaking from first hand experience, the people who know how to do it in moderation and know not to smoke like every god damn day are the ones that are going on to do successful shit with their lives. I've known plenty of pothead retard losers that do nothing but smoke, talk about smoking 24/7, and all they ever want to do is party. There are extremists in every group, but the fact remains that for some people weed can be an extremely negative influence. Just because you react well to it does not mean everyone does. The actual cannabis plant is not addictive, I completely agree with that but do any of you really believe that the high you get isn't? Positive association between smoking the weed and feeling the high can be just as mentally addictive as any other substance, but this again is dependent on the person.

 

Enjoy it while you have nothing to lose at the moment. You're 15 and still have plenty of life. When life starts to get serious you will know when you need to stop. If you want to do it again when you're older and know you won't lose your job or it won't interfere with your life go for it.

This is what my mindset is, I'm young I smoke pot casually the most I have to worry about right now is getting a bad score on a test.

 

Agreed, if you're smart about it and do it recreationally here and there, there is nothing wrong with it. It's only when it becomes a constant habit that it is a problem. You said it yourself that you don't do it that much, but I'm more concerned about your age than the impact of the drug itself. You have plenty more years ahead of you to develop (puberty), we can't determine 100% what the effects would be long term on each individual, but for the sake of your health as an adult you may want to cut down or completely quit until you're a bit older.

 

Fuck what anyone has to say tbh, if you want to smoke bud then smoke bud, if you don't then don't, anyone else's opinion is just there opinion, only you would know if you want to quit or not, me personally, i started smoking weed around 12 and have been smoking consistently since, and only you would know how weed effects your life, it's either something you enjoy and will do whenever you feel, or your just anti-against it because you haven't experienced it and just hopped on the bandwagon, bottom line do what ever you feel necessary.

 

As a rule of thumb, when asking yourself questions like that... The answer is yes.

 

The first time I smoked, I was 11. I was with an older friend and he offered it to me, blah blah blah. I actually picked it up myself though around 13. I'm 16 now, and it's an everyday thing for me. I still make great grades in school, I've got all 85+ averages in school since like 6th until sophomore year now. I have a stable job and pay for everything on my own, I have plenty of friends, and have a great relationship with my mom and my brother. My dad doesn't live with us anymore. I can very much so carry on an "intelligent" conversation with someone. Can I go on about politics like "adults" do? No, because I honestly don't give a fuck right now. I'll worry about that when my opinion counts. I guess my point is, you can smoke weed everyday, and still live perfectly fine. I smoke by myself, and some people say that I have no life, and I'm a faggot for smoking by myself.. Fuck them, I have plenty of friends, and smoke with them. It's a way for us to bond and have a good time. I've gone on this rant for a long ass time.. If anyone wants to have a conversation about weed, whether it be about the effects, or if you want to prove me wrong, feel free to PM me, I'm not going to do this over posts. If you want to smoke, do it, don't let other people tell you to do it, or not. If you don't want to, then by all means, don't.

If it's not effecting your life in any negative way, I'd say go ahead and keep smoking.
It's not physically addictive, so you're fine to quit whenever you need to.
Seems to me as of right now you have no real reason to, so you should do what ever you enjoy the most .

I'm baked practically all the time, doesn't effect my life much.

It helps me cope, and keeps me from being depressed all the time, that's better than sitting around being upset and feeling discouraged about my life, am I right?

 

Why is it a stupid question? He just asked why he wants to stop smoking, since OP did not provide us with this information.

Anyway, a good reason to stop is that your brain is not nearly finished developing, so if you start smoking already, you will never experience your brain fully developed. But that's just one of many reaons. It's all up to you really.

Given idk you irl, on the other hand, If you enjoy it and see no harm coming from it, by all means smoke it the fuck up and get baked.

This is a personal choice and only you should be the one to decide this.

 

Look, I understand where you're coming- believe me. The thing is that you're fifteen. At your age, your brain hasn't fully developed and matured yet. I don't mean this in any negative way, it's just biology. Smoking stunts growth and kills brain cells. I suggest that you stop smoking and see how it feels to be sober again. At the very least, your body will thank you.

Smoking makes you stupid, but for me at least, it relieves all stress and puts you in a positive state of mind.

Give it a break, and if after a month you would still like to continue smoking, that's a decision you'll have to make then. At the very least, you'll make your mom proud of you.

 

well, as they say, smoking pot at such a young age is bad. It completely depends on your body's immunity. hypothetically, a person might have started pot at the age of 10, continued till 40. died at 90, and didnt havea single problem becauuse of his smoking habits, whereas, a person may have just smoked a pot for a few months and would have suffered from chronic bronchitis, or even asthama. if you are SURELY gonna do it, then it is RECOMENDED (only if u wanna do it :L) that u start near the age of 20, as thats the age when our body is at its fittest( majority, there are always exceptions from one person to another).
I, personally , feel you shouldnt smoke pot atleast until you depend upon yourself completely. thats when you'll see life much clearer and would know how to prioritise and would be able to tell the diff b/w good or bad. im no philosopher or even an adult. m just 16 bro hope what i said made sense.

Well after kinda reading the whole thread I'm sure that if you really wanted to stop smoking weed you'd have already stopped as you stated it before, it is true that everything on abuse has side effects one good example is consuming too much vitamin C which leads to avitaminosis, this is because the body changes it's metabolism process leading to a bad re-absorption of the vitamin, (not only vitamin C just a example as you could drink some in the morning every day), and supposedly vitamins are something that you got to eat quite often.

If you want a fact about drugs, heroin was in the past few years an analgesic and well people consume it as today we do aspirin, or acetaminophen at first they discovered that people got addicted quite easily to it, but then came all the narco-effects on it.

there's also a question for you, If you are so confident about you metabolism, your knowledge and your mother decision about smoking weed from time to time, then why stopping or even making this thread?

believe when I say to you, if you ask yourself such a thing, if everything is "OK" and you don't find a reasonable explanation for your worries then everything is not OK and you should be lead by your instinct

 

How does that make any difference, my mom isn't the one asking or even mentioning that I smoke. It honestly seems like it would make no difference to her. If your thinking that she would be proud of me for choosing to stop smoking nothing would change.
