It looks like a pretty strong computer. If you don't have a Windows 7 computer yet Awesome, get one, because it is definitely a strong step up from Vista. You'll get to enjoy the full capability of that Hp laptop because Vista won't hog the whole processor.

 

Big Supporter of Windows 7! As for HPs, my experience has been an overheating issue. Guess it depends on what your main use will be. Been on my new laptop for about seven months and the fans hardly ever come on, however portablity/price sort of sucks.

Also the video card sucks. Don't expect to play high end games on it. (It would run WoW, but isn't going to run stuff like TF2, CS:S, CoD Mod2, etc)

 

Like Daily said, it depends on what kind of The Game you're going to be playing. If you're just some RS kid, then yeah, go for it. By the way, you lost the game.

 

HPs are terrible products. They use "top notch" equipment (which is clearly not so, according to the dual core processor and graphics card it comes with) for the showy parts of the computer; the parts that people pay attention to most, but everything else is extremely cheap, flimsy, and worthless. Having a good processor and a semi-decent video card doesn't solely make a computer run well, and will only last as long as their cheapest part (which is usually a fan or mobo, etc.) so my advice to you is to find another company who doesn't skimp on their parts, OR build one yourself.

I built one for around your price quote after rebate, and my specs are still better, and nothing could be easier. The only thing to worry about is making sure the parts you buy work well together, and there are many sites out there that help you with that. Www.newegg.com is an amazing site that has a vast collection of parts, user reviews, and even complete set bundles and suggestions. I advise you give it a try!

I have a brand new Samsung laptop that I might have overpaid for. It's got a 2.3 ghz intel pentium processor, windows 7, 3 gb ddr3 ram, and a 250gb harddrive.

Edit: Paid $620 for it.

 

:s i'm rethinking it... but there was one with the same specifications, except a different Graphics card.. and 500gb hardrive at 620$ plus like 50$ cashback.. the graphics card is ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics RS780M Up to 1918MB
and btw, what's better Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD or ATI RAdeon HD 4200 Graphics
i know theyre both horrible, but just wondering .
and I don't mind if i can't play MW2..etc on it..I use my PS3 for that.
I'll be using it for college next year , Programming, PS, etc..
