Fagex e-mails.

I've quited playing Rs around 1 year ago, and suddently a half month ago i started to get fake Runescape e-mails on my e-mail saying: "account notification" etc.

I was wondering if anyone knows how these fake sites found my e-mail, and if you also get these mails?

 

Yeah must of us get them. They get your email from forums.

 

That's really strange because i never used my personal e-mail on any forum?

 

They obviously got it from somewhere, think back to all the places of where you've entered/used that email in the past. Even if it was in only one public place, that is enough to have phishing emails sent to you.

 

Everyone gets these emails. Just don't click the links provided in them. People can pick up these emails from virtually anywhere that you've posted it. There are bots/scripts that pick up emails and various people sell these emails in bundles to people who phish/hack. Those buyers then send emails to people like us to try and hack us.

 

I had an email about a week ago for an infraction due to real world trading. I didnt click the link and logged into my runescape account on the Rs website and there was no sign of any infraction.

The email looked very official aswell, be aware.

they get emails from tip.it, rs wiki forums, sythe forums, and salmoneous forums. There are retards who use same pass and email for everything

 

that's why I refuse to post an email over sythe for the fact of being spammed with emails, just ignore them, no harm if you don't touch them.

Just ignore them. Jagex will never email you. All messages from jagex will be in the "Message Centre" of your account.

 

Peoples are able to get email databases.
Dunno how they do it though.

 

Those are just pathetic phishers who get your e-mail any way they possibly can, and then attempt to lure you to one of their sites. I never got any of those e-mails until I joined Sythe and started advertising my e-mail all over the place
