I'm just starting to experiment with some online shopping. I tend to do a lot of automotive work which leaves me at the auto parts store a lot and I've srtarted experimenting with some online part stoes. What surprises me is the ridiculous difference in prices when comparing the same products. I've also unfotunately found that a lot of products I look to buy online come from the US so shipping/customs which kills a ton of my savings.

What do you buy online and what do you avoid buying online? Do you prefer to shop online, or would you rather just visit a store?

I prefer shopping online for most things. It's just an inconvenience to go shopping when I had uni and work and the gf etc. I go food shopping in-person because the store staff tend to give you all the junk that's been sitting for days and not the fresh'ns. I don't think there's much else I wont buy online.. usually save some money online and shipping is always free in most big stores in the UK because it's such a small country.

Very rarely buy things online, I prefer seeing what I'm gettin, obviously it's not always possible.

Like i'd rather go out of my way to go food shopping than to order it all online.

I tend to shop for specialist things online, as they're impossible to get on the highstreet.

I do a weekly foodshop, and there are 3 supermarkets <1 min from my front door, so it's not a problem.

I buy clothes from retail stores in the centre, because they're so damn cheap, but specialist clothing online due to them being impossible to get in the city.

    tl;dr

If I can get it cheaply face to face, I will.
    If I can't, online.

Normally buy them online. It takes longer but it is much cheaper in the long run.

Yeah, I find things dirt cheap online even at big retail store websites.

Also I find eBay is even cheaper as there is a lot of competition for the same item.

But to the question, I buy 99% of my things online but all my clothes I buy from a store!

Ammunition. Rare parts or magazines. Even orded a gun online to have delivered to my FFL. Also some t-shirts, some tools. A pair of boots once (after trying them on in store).

I still dont utilize it like I should. I prefer to do business with people, small businesses preferred.

Things for PS3/Other gaming systems/phone accessories/controllers/anything related to electronics.

You'll find online that electronics are cheaper, phone accessories are always like 99 cents because they come from China.

Ebay is ace for Gaming system accessories/games because if they don't work, the company will send another 99% of the time without you having to return the original, or they'll just refund.

Occasionally I do clothes shopping, I don't like the whole aspect of shopping in the Mall because the vendors attack you, and the salesmen are laid back but most of them are young dumb fucks.
