She already has a kid?

I am going to go out on a date with a girl that has been my friend in the past, she moved away a few years ago and we got along great.

We are going out on friday and she does seem pretty cool, but when it comes down to it, should I let the fact that she already has a kid hurt my opinion of her?

I am in a college student and can't afford a family.

 

Go out on the date. That way you can gauge whether she's worth the hard work involved.

 

Try to keep it friends at first, and see how she is if u keep hanging out with her. To be honest, make sure she isn't trying to use you to help her pay for her kid. It sounds strange, but that happens A LOT.

 

Well put it this way, if she likes you now and you dont work and go to college at least you know she isn't there for the money. Can she support a kid on her single wage ?

 

That is what I am leaning toward

I know it happens a lot and it worries me but I did know her in the past so....

I am in college lol. Um... well she has been for awhile now. She just got laid off but is in the process in getting a mining job (popular around here), which would pay 28$ a hour. That is 8 more a hour then average in my area lol

 

I don't know man your awful young to be dealing with that. But if anything keep friends with her, and eventually she'll find someone if its not you

 

Personally I tend not to go out with a girl that has a child, I have once and I didn't need to pay for the child or anything, we stayed in a fair bit and had movie nights a lot etc, I did get her baby the odd bit of clothing or a toy, but I didn't pay for anything needed unless she asked me for it (if she asked for a £500 pram I would have said no, I mean small things like nappies).

Girls with babies in my opinion don't need as much attention as other girls.
If you do get with her, help her out with the baby to show that you care, but at the same time don't do too much as she will probably use you.

 

Well so what she has a kid if you like her this should not get in the way of being happy and also it will make you a more responsible person in the long run so go for it if you are happy.
