There is a difference of something natural, and something not natural there.

No, im asking because teens that send nudes of themselves to a bf/gf are now getting charged for possession of child porn.

 

That's outrageous, to kill yourself over a couple of naked pictures. My parents have always taught me, that no matter how bad life can get NOTHING is ever worth killing yourself over.

There is a difference though. Maybe not legal at this point in time, but there is a difference. You see, cocaine messes up your brain and other body functions, where porn just gives you a release.

Facepalm is just a reaction to your last comment, which is what we call an "unwarranted extrapolation" in debate terminology.

Your argument here isn't about the legalization of child porn, is it? You can't hop both buses. Either it's entirely illegal, meaning possession and distribution, or you are advocating for the legalization of it's entirety.

I am not trying to legalize child porn, im trying to legalize porn of people from the age of 16+

There's no reason to pick an arbitrary number like 16. 18 is the legal age for adult. 16 has absolutely no meaning besides being able to drive. You may as well advocate legalization of the whole thing from a libertarian perspective, though I'd be wary on the tracks where the freedom of one invades the freedoms of another.

 

I think 16 is a safe age where teens are usually experimenting with their bodies and what not, usually after puberty has started to slow down. Girls are anywhere from 8-13, and boys are anywhere from 10 - 14 years of age (http://www.aap.org/publiced/BR_Teen_Puberty.htm). Most teens lose there virginity around the age of 16-18 (no real info on this, just research on google.) So there are people that are curious about it around that age. I don't see why we should crush natural urges.

 

The reason why the legal voting age is 18, is because the government doesn't trust anyone under that age to make an informed decision.

This is not my opinion, nor do I believe that turning 18 necessarily creates better decisions, but under such guidelines, informed consent of pornography would need to be at that age.

 

What does the age of voting and the age of pornography have to do with each other?

Nice use of sarcasm... You've clearly shown your ability to read by acknowledging a point I made several posts above. Yes, I do like irony.

If it were up to me, I'd lower the voting age, consent age, adult age myself. But because somoen UNDER 18, is a CHILD, any naked pictures at this age is CHILD PORNOGRAPHY. You can advocate for a lower adult age, but that is a different issue and debate altogether. As long as the definition of an adult(in the US) is at 18, any porn under that age will obviously be child pornography. Trying to shift this argument from intellectual property of porn to lowering the age of adulthood is changing the argument altogether.

 

So you believe they are sexual offenders? (The people that have pics of lets say 16 year olds). They are linked into the same group as rapist, people who touch CHILDREN(kids under the age of 16) and everything else? I don't see why one should be punished for being curious about his body.
