Several Problems with Desktop Computer

First off I have a Dell Dimesnion XPS Gen 2 with Windows XP.This problem came about 2 months ago. The Dell Wireless Keyboard I have worked fine until about 2 months ago.The mouse still works perfectly.But the hotkeys and the volume control dial dont work.Theres a Microsoft Keyboard utility on the control panel.When I click on that then click restore defaults it works.But then if I restart the computer I have to do it again.Thats the first problem.The second problem is that while the computer is starting up the system 32 file shows up.I have no idea why but it is very annoying.Thanks in advance for your help.

Wireless keyboards suck, get a normal keyboard.
