Setting up minecraft for DK2 and xbox360 controller

Minecraft is presently probably the best Oculus test experience due to its sandbox nature and the high quality mod created for it.

To set up with the DK2 and xbox controller for windows 7+ you need the following:

    Installation:
    1. Install Minecraft 1.7.10
    2. Install Forge.
    3. Open minecraft and run the forge release to set up the initial folders and configuration.
    4. Open C:\Users\[Yourusername]\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\mods and copy JoypadMod-1.7.10.jar into it.
    5. Now make sure instances of minecraft and the launcher are closed.
    6. Install minecrift-1.7.10-R1c-installer.exe. Tick the "install with forge" and "binaural audio" options. Do not tick Hydra unless you have a Hydra.

Now try run minecraft lanucher and select release "minecrift-1.7.10-R1c-forge-nohydra"

This may crash trying to fetch a non-existent version of forge. If it does close the launcher and go to C:\Users\[Yourusername]\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\libraries\net\minecraftforge\forge\
    Delete the folder 1.7.10-10.13.4.1448-1.7.10
Make a copy of the folder 1.7.10-10.13.4.1492-1.7.10 and rename it to 1.7.10-10.13.4.1448-1.7.10.
    Now try again.

    Oculus setup:
    1. Make sure your video card drivers and chipset drivers are fully updated.
    2. Use the configuration utility to set Rift Display Mode to "Extend Desktop to the HMD". Leave Rift Saver ticked but DK1 legacy unticked. Accept.
    3. Turn on the DK2 using the button on the device. It should be orange.
    4. Open screen resolution settings from windows control panel
    5. Set the DK2 device as the primary display
    6. Now you will be able to see a bit of your desktop through the DK2. Accept the changes then you can turn the device off (with the orange/blue button on it) until you are ready to use it -- which should return your desktop to your monitor.

    To play:
Open minecraft launcher, select the minecrift forge release as detailed above, switch your DK2 on and click Play.

Inside minecraft under the controller options you will want to set Xbox controller to on.

If you have problems let me know and I'll see if I can help.
