Sythe Rule Changes/Rule Clarifications

This thread will break down important topics/issues on Sythe with improvements for the safety/experience of our members moving forward.

Suggestion #1 - Stricter enforcement for users who make useless posts/threads in the Report A Scammer forum

Many users have suggested a stricter rule enforcement for those who post useless things in the RAS forum (to troll, or waste staff time), and we need to be more strict on this. Therefore, we have revamped the current system with the punishments below:

Hopefully with this addition we'll have a more clear RAS section in which the staff team won't have to put up with useless posts/threads as much as we currently do. With that being said if you have additional information to add to a report, then feel free to message the moderator handling the report privately.

Suggestion #2 - Users must list the correct number of vouches from their vouch thread in the titles of their threads

Moving forward, if a user wants to advertise "X" number of vouches, those vouches must be listed and counted in their vouch thread. Users may not claim vouches posted in various threads unless they have been copied into the user's respective vouch thread.

Example: Advertising 5K+ vouches while having only 3K+ in a vouch thread.
(Offsite vouches are not honored on Sythe and do not count towards a total.)

Suggestion #3 - Revise and strictly enforce rules in regards to disclosing the personal information of other Sythe users

Suggestion #4 Reminder - Combating account services liability

Service providers are allowed to protect themselves with their TOS in regards to ban risk. This has been a point of controversy for some time and reports inevitably end with staff being unable to determine who is at fault for the ban if an account was being trained by someone else. Simply put, you are allowed to put clauses in your ToS saying you're not responsible for bans. If you don't and there is a ban, you will be held responsible.

If staff believe a service provider is abusing this by observing a trend or circumstantial evidence is provided in a report, staff may use their own discretion and hold the service provider accountable.

Suggestion #5 Reminder - Account sales

In the last year, staff have handled hundreds of reports where the buyer and seller of an account go back and forth with claims that are hard to prove. As a result, we have added rules to protect both the buyer and seller. These rules will assist staff in resolving reports easier too.

If staff believe an account seller is abusing this by observing a trend or circumstantial evidence is provided in a report, staff may use their own discretion and hold the account seller accountable.

A note regarding trading in hacked/stolen goods

Buying or selling hacked/stolen products is expressly forbidden. This goes for gold, accounts, gift cards, anything. To be clear, this has always been our policy and engaging in this will result in a permanent ban. Trading hacked/stolen products is not only risky to customers but in many regions it is illegal.

That said, we were not clear about this policy being against our rules. We have forgiven a couple users who admitted to this offense but moving forward we will be punishing people who knowingly trade in hacked/stolen products.

Is the account sale rule only binding on sales that occur as of today?

I like the idea of the vouches now people going to start vouching where it suppose to.

 

Great addition of rules. I think we all personally can think of a user on Sythe who was abusing Rule #2 for the longest time.

 

wouldn't necessarily say that, but they have to quote every individual vouch over to their vouch thread like I do.
