Sadly I remember that day pretty well.

I was in 6th grade. Hav'ing a good time because I knew it was my last year in elamentry school. Was joking around with my friends, talking to the teacher about random things. My teacher gets a call on his cell phone, a random call so I thought during class, and thought nothing of it. Untill he went from the easy going to uptight and didnt want to talk. Then before I knew what happened I thought something happened but didnt think it was somthing to that magnitude. I remember asking my friends around if they knew what was up, I didnt want to ask my teacher flat out I guess.
**Keep in mind that we still wasnt told about what happened**

Later that day it was time for recess, the teachers/pricipal wouldnt let us outside due to the bee's that were outside on the play ground. Everyone in my class was mad because we wanted to let off some energy and run around. After all we were 6th graders. But there excuse was that there were a swarm of bee's outside. At the time we believed them, we didnt get to into it thinking about it. We just figured there were bee's outside. I didnt complain because I'm alergic to bee's. Everyone in the class though was mad whining basicly now that I look back on it.
**Still thinking that we couldnt go outside because of bee's**
Parents started picking up there kids to go home/where ever they took them. My class went from full to like 15 kids. I was still in the class, I figured somthing was wrong. So I talked with my best friend still best friends till this day. We were taking guesses, but we later found out we were nowhere close to what actually happened. Terrorism wasnt even if our minds, we couldnt even phathom someone blowing themselves up. It just couldnt happen in our eyes. Our class down to like 10 kids (me and my best friend still in it)
The pricipal goes over the loud speaker again, and anounces that we are going to have an early dismissal. Now after I heard that, Im not going to lie I was exstatic. Everyone was, still was curious but the early dismissel quickly got rid of thinking what was happening.
**STILL not knowing what really happened**
Dont really remember the buss ride home.
I remember this part most vividly
Got home still not knowing. My mom was home (we only 2 in the house, dad past away because of lung cancer (ps: dont Smoke)) She said rather calmly what happened. She said 2 planes crashed into the towers. I immediatly new because we live in New York, dont really remember what she told me about the other sites where the planes crashed.
My first reaction was NO way, thats a big accident. Not even thinking of terrorism. She told me it wasnt an accident because it happened it different places and hit both towers. Me still in shock, not understanding what shes trying to tell me clicks on channel 11 news and they just have the same video of the plane hitting the tower, over and over and over and over again. I couldnt stop watching it. It still didnt sink in what happened. I wasnt crying or anything because something so big like that couldnt happen I thought. And plus me having so much pride and be'ing so proud to be in america, and being american, I didnt think something like that could happen to America. I had alot of Pride in my Country back then I remember I wanted to be a navy seal. I still have alot of pride to this day possably even more, although I set my career goals to a more reasonable job (commercial pilot) I'm not letting them stop my from following threw with my future.

My house phone is now ringing non stop almost one phone call after another, random relitaves on the phone crying, neibors, friends just calling asking questions see'ing if we were ok things like that.
**Still didnt sink in what happened**

2 or 3 days later, I get a phone call that really mattered. It was my assistant coach from little league baseball. He didnt speak to me about 9/11. Just talked to me asked me how I was. Told me I was doing good in baseball random convo. He sounded sad, just thought it was about 9/11 in general. My mom spoke to him after I got off. When she got off she told me My coach died in 9/11 he was in the 1st tower when it collapsed.
That is when it finally hit me

From 9/11 to this day, I want to turn Iraq into a parking lot. You can hate me for it, but thats how I feel.

I remember the day quite well. I got up, took a shower, and ate just like normal. I drove to school and it started ontime at 8:30pm as normal. I get into my class and my teacher was Mrs. Lenzo she had the radio on. People were talking about what was going on and said "Did you hear the news?" I had no clue what had happened. They announced on the radio that the trade centers fell due to a couple of airplanes or whatever... I was like wtf how could that happen. That's all I remember...

Maybe I'm self centered. Maybe I don't have a soul.

But I never thought 9/11 was a big deal. I never even felt bad for anyone..

No. I just don't feel bad when people die. My grandmother died 2 or 3 years ago, I didn't feel bad at all. Even went to her funeral and everyone was crying and I was like "WTF".

Why must you bloody Americans insist on draping your ridiculous flag over everything? FYI, regardless of 'who did 9/11', Americans weren't the only ones that were killed.

If anyone in this thread says 'God bless America' or something similar, I'm going to hunt them down.

I'm with a few other people who aren't effected by this chain of events.

I don't see death as a sad event. Everyone has to die, and some sooner than later, so are you going to mourne about it and waste another 3 years of your life (or in this case, 6) or are you going to continue living and have fun?

When the WTC collapsed I'm like, Oh, big deal. I was in year 2 at the time, and I still think its not a big deal. you can flame me for saying who cares, but I say; Who cares? It was 6 years ago for fucks sake. If youre still sad about it after 6 years perhaps you should stop living under a rock.

I'm Australian. I don't see the Americans mourning at the Australian War Memorial. And yet they introduce 3 minutes of silence because something happend in America. Pssh.

My friends dad was in the building that day. Fortunately he managed to run quickly out of the building...but sadly one large rock struck his head. He's still alive though.

    What was I doing?

Well, I was playing RuneScape xD
