Sending money through mail?

My friend wants to buy my account for about £230, is it safe to send that much through mail?
Are you allowed to send money through mail?
Should he wrap it up?
If so how does wrapping it up benefit anyone?

Any advice? I'd rather him not lose it through mail, thanks.

It's always sketch sending money in the mail, it could get stolen, or lost. Have your friend wrap the money/notes in paper, then use a security envelope that has the markings inside so people can't see through it. You could even write have your friend write a check.

 

Just use paypal or western union.. much safer.. more expensive, but i'd rather lose the $5-15.00 for the transfer then lose the whole £230 by someone stealing it.

 

Send something in a package, like a pillow. Then put the money inside the pillow, box it up, and ship it out.

But really, its not safe at all.

 

I've sent in excess of $300 To canada, I just wraped it in a card and taped up the card.

It arrived safe and sound.

I've always wrap stuff i send ( pot seeds , cash ) into ipod socks , they are like 1$ , they are nto suspicious and cool

Meh,i wrap mine in paper or birthday cards but if he is doing mail try and get insurance or something i have mailed 1000 to r2p with regular mail and it didnt get lost so phew :O

 

I've recieved several mail payments for my Untimate Grand Exchange Guide and everything came through fine.

The real place where you're most likely to lose it is when it's sitting in your mailbox- Just make sure you get it without lettting it sit too long, and don't let your neighbors know you're expecting money

Sending money through the mail obviously has some risk involved. The most important thing to do if you are certain you want to send cash is to make sure to use high denominated bills (which make the package as thin as possible), and also make sure to cover the money so that it can not be seen through the enveloppe. The best way to do this is either an old card, or by a few pieces of paper. Do not over-wrap either, thin and opaque is the effective way of doing it. A piece of tape to secure it shut never hurts either.

Don't use a birthday card to send it in as mentioned above, that's the complete opposite. How many people put money into a b-day card... just make it look like something the mailman/postman can't be fucked to open.

 

Not really, I would try and find an alternative way of sending the money.

 

sending cash through mail is not risky at all if youre good at it. just fold a few pieces of paper into the envelope and stash the money in the middle. ive done it before, very easy and safe.

 

Some services offer tracking, record and signed for, etc.
This way, you can see where it is, and if they actually recieved it.
