Post a thread on TO claiming the domain for sale so that someone dosn't impersonate a pro bugger and get people to give him accs them thinking he's gonna find a good bug.

Ughster, you should consider posting accepted payment methods.
Because the last thing you need is tons of scammers wasting your time.

I think it's safe to assume the thought has crossed your mind, but having it white on blue tends to prevent a bunch of scammers add you thinking they'll make a huge hit.

Ughster, i would look at buying after christmas if you are interested... I can do just about any payment method... But yeah... Talk on msn at somepoint and we can discuss things k. ontop of that i can guarantee i wont be crackign any MD5 passwords or anything a)i dont know how and b) i have no interest in hacking peoples accounts as i have other more important issues and the last thing i need is the australian federal police on my doorstep >.<

on top of this i could quite easily afford a more expensive hosting and thus i could expand the site a bit more... however although you are selling it would you hang around as a mod or somethign or just a regular member ?? perhaps a consultant because as the previous owner you know what YOUR members want...

Mentis, payment methods will depend on the buyer.

If i still had the time TO would be a very active community, but these days I don't, so I'd rather sell it to someone who feels their up to the job of keeping an active RS community rather than get rid of it altogether.

 

If we over at TO managed to get enough cash together could we buy it as a group?

 

RSP, I think it's fairly safe to assume you could. However, you'd need to organize it properly.

Meaning:

-Getting a leader/representative.
-A general fund, held by someone highly trustworthy.
-Getting an administrator for the group and site.
-Just organize the group properly so you keep things simple, and can make a difference in who helped pay for the site, and who is helping run it.

Basically if you manage to put things together in such a way it's simple enough for Ughster I don't see why he would mind.

As long as he deals with ONE person, gets the money from one person, and hands the information to one person it shouldn't matter who that person represents or what group stands behind him. (As long as you aren't idiots, I think he's just as allergic to them as myself).

The new owner would be picking staff to help manage the site anyway.

Now I am NOT speaking for Ughster, since that isn't my place. I'm just saving you all some time giving an obvious answer.
Normally I don't, but it's something about TO that draws me and makes me want to see it live on PROPERLY. Not managed by a half brained idiot with allot of money from his parents..

Mentis, I don't believe I remember you on any of the tainted-ones forums? If you were on it then I apologize, but if you weren't why would anything create you to want it. Tainted-Ones was the original, and then Fagex and other sites begin to leech from our bug abuse section. Anyways, once again Sky, please make the right decision in selling, and please continue to turn down "Red Eyes16" from selling. I assume Dragon and I MAY try and purchase it with a group, seeing as we both have funds to support it. Possibly, we'll decide and then contact you on MSN.

I've been on TO for quite a while now, but not as long as I have known and dealt with buggers. The bugging, community and eventually the screwing over of Jagex just had a high place with me. And I used to love it to the fullest.

I wasn't a big poster on TO, but I was there frequently and helped out allot of the smaller buggers with their projects and discoveries.

I used a different name on TO than I do on Sythe. As a matter of fact, Sythe is the only place I am referred to as Mentis.

So please, don't doubt my motives or my concerns for the welfare of what was once a lovely forum. It doesn't go down too well, I hope you can relate to that. If you can't, then you are years of growing up away from commenting on me.

 

I wasn't intending to insinuate you didn't care. I was actually inquiring as to whether you had been on TO, since I hadn't seen the name. Sorry if you took it the wrong way. If I said anything that may have offended you I apologize. I've been on TO since November 2006.
