So you're saying, if I had the Gamertag "B O B", and the real gamertag "BOB" gets reset, it's mine.
How does that even work..

 

It was an exploit found during the gamertag creation process awhile back which is now patched. It does reserve the tag for you when the original non spaced version gets reset. That's why space names are such a big deal now because they actually have some use. Hope you gained some insight on the situation now.

 

Sorry for the off topic post, but around when do the v1 tags get reset? Is there a specific amount of years it needs to be inactive?

You're essentially paying for the Original tag, because when it resets, you will be the only one who is able to get it.

Seriously, that is a low-ball offer and I would be surprised if he accepted.
