    What's your split like?

Hey guys everybody has different goals and different opinions on how to reach those goals but what is your typical split like? Currently this is what I'm using:

    Chest-biceps
    Shoulders- triceps
    Back- legs

Abs are either thrown in hard on a single day or twice once where I do lower abs and once upper abs.
Breaks are thrown in depending on people from my hometown visiting, or other things I need to get done on a specific day.

    This should look more like

    Chest-Triceps
    Back-Biceps
    Legs
    (throw shoulders in there somewhere)

Reasoning for this is most chest workouts include triceps so might as well train those on the same day. Same for most back workouts they target some biceps as well. If you mix them the recovery process is slower. Legs should always have their own day so you can hit them and hit them hard.

Just my two cents.. I understand everyone has their own way of lifting.

    Good luck! :)

    What's your split like?

This is my current split as oh now but basic for most.

Monday- Chest and triceps 30 min on tread mill or or track
    Tuesday-back and biceps
    Wensday-rest/or Shoulders and traps
    Thursday-Cardio
    Friday-leg day
Sat-Sunday-Rest or hit all body workout or cardio

I don't do abs and obliques to much but when I do I hit high intensity reps til failure for 2 sets I learned from multiple pros that this is the best way because low reps for more sets just builds and under potential fat

No set dates, usually just do whichever I feel like or haven't done for the week.

It's actually very beneficial to train delts and triceps on the same day rather than chest and triceps. I feel by the end of my workout I'm sluggish for triceps. I do triceps inbetween, but training them on delts day is a great alternative for going heavier with higher reps.

However, I do agree with you with legs on a separate day than back. You will hit lower back to a degree if you deadlift at all.

I understand the reasoning behind hitting them in the same day but I find after chest typically my triceps don't get the attention they deserve whereas if they're on an alternate day with back each muscle gets hit harder.

This is my reasoning aswell. The reasoning legs are not on their own day is because I jog around 30k + weekly and because of my past hockey goalie career (if you wanna call it that I played high ish level) my knees are pretty susceptible to pain so I hit legs with lower reps to avoid fatigue and knee pain.

Sorry to here about your knees! Always a good idea to steer of clear hurting yourself more at a younger age to avoid chronic pain when you're older.

    What's your split like?

I switch them up nearly everytime so it's never the same but it might look something like this
    1: chest/ shoulders chest/back chest/biceps
    2: legs/traps legs/shoulders legs/triceps
    3: back/bicep back/tricep back
    4: shoulders/traps

I normally hit the gym 4-6 times a week but I always throw these workouts around, I find it works well, I also find that I gain faster muscle with lighter weights and more reps and have the proper form while squeezing.

Just hit everything mate, a lot of deception is based on lifting, if you want to get strong just do everything if you are body building then a lot of food nutrition money and patients is needed.
