Seeking Help On App Programming

I'm just looking for someone to talk to on Skype who can walk me through the basics and possibly help me out a bit. I would appreciate anything. My Skype is ShaggyTheKid.​

 

So you're making an application yet you don't know how to make an application?.......

 

I know what I want to do, but I don't know how to do it. That's why I made the post...

 

You aren't going to be able to just make an app with no programming experience. Do some basic tutorials first.

 

That's what I'm asking for. I have some C++ experience, but not that much. I guess what I'm asking for is someone to point in the right direction where I can find some good tutorials and not Code Academy.

Do you have an idea what you want to develop for (iOS or Android)? Personally I prefer iOS but that may because I am more comfortable with it since it is what I started developing for at the beginning. If you want to start developing for iOS I suggest the following course:

iOS 10 & Swift 3: From Beginner to Paid Professional

Yes there is free material out there but I find this course very easy to follow and it is extremely relevant since the course was released at the end of July.

 

I think I would prefer iOS. I'm going to look into that. Have you or anyone ever heard of Gamesalad? Is that site relevant or of any use to me?

 

I take it you want to develop games? If you only care about making games you should look into Unity or GameMaker instead. I've never even heard of Gamesalad so that is a bit concerning. I know Unity has a free version (because i've used it before) and i'm pretty sure GameMaker does too.

 

Well, I have quite a few beneficial app ideas that aren't games. Would either of those still help me or should I just stick with what you gave me earlier?

 

Can't really say the newboston is the best choice for beginners, it's more for people who already have fundementals of programming. He should learn first fundementals of programming, and afterwards he can check from time to time thenewboston.


I don't really know any good ios tutorials, but i suggest you

My Video Courses | Android, Java, Python, C# And Games Blog expecially, java for beginners, really well explained oop fundementals, and shows basically anything else you need to start out with.

 

I have taken an intro course of C++ so I know some about programming.

 

Well thats great, but do you know the all of the stuff like the back of your hand?
Controls, loops, constants, data types, oop fundementals, memory management, pointers, consturctors, destructors etc...
You will need to know all of these stuff and alot more...
Not trying to start a fight or anything, but you have to know these stuff and you wouldn't even ask anything about basics and such if you knew the basics...

Nothing much really changes, only syntax

 

In that case learn to develop in Xcode using Swift.
