South Africa joburg has one of the highest crime rates in the world. They dont only steal everything they kill you aswell. The blacks dont mix with the whites at all, infact hate each other. People are neally hijacked on a daily basis. 4 of my family members have had guns pointed to there heads and one was nearly beaten to death. We have electric fencing, security guards in our complex and an alarm installed in our unit and they still break into other units sometimes on a monthly basis, the crime is retarded, you've got to sleep with one eye open.

I live in a pretty safe area in Virginia, we have to lock everything up though because there are still many thieves. It's safe to walk around at night and stuff, but it's crawling with cops trying to catch teens smoking and drinking.

    Security where you live?

    London, United Kingdom

lets just say the cars at the underground parking at my apartment could exceed £500,000+

However my location is in the same district as one of the most dangerous places in London with a lot of "gang culture".

Its weird here you can walk into one street and its a whole new world!

Orlando has one of the highest murder rates around. And with idiot tourists trying to make their mark and drug smugglers and cocaine kingpins coming up from Miami it's not the safest place to live. Although overall it is a pleasant city.

I've left my door wide open overnight before lol, and the worst thing that's happened is a raccoon creeped in and pooped on my floor. I have been robbed up the street before, but that was a bunch of inner city black kids from the nearby private school (the school attracts inner city kids because of the discipline). Generally, my area is totally safe because it's all rich white families, though my city as a whole is not safe at all, especially after dark (Toronto, Canada).

There are more "safe areas" in my city than a typical city of the same size though, so I guess I'm grateful. I can walk to my friends' houses even as late as 1-4am, flashing around my phone and iPod and nobody will think twice about robbing me.

We allways lock the door behind us, no matter what.

That is even tho its during the day, we lock it when opening and closing it.
I live in Denmark, my area is known for being the most criminal part of Denmark compared to its amount of citizens.

People generally lock their doors around here, and their cars, and keep things safe. It is not extremely dangerous, and not every guy walking down the street is going to try and steal from you, but its definitely not a small town either where people feel comfortable leaving their doors unlocked at night and trust each other.

Quite a few of my neighbors have had their houses and cars broken into over the years, and my parents personally have had 3 seperate incidences where their cars broken into that were parked on the side of the street, or where the windows were smashed out and the car raided for small change and CD's and lots of useless little things. The neighborhood I live in is kind of a "mixed bag". You've got everything from old ladies and couples that are model citizens and live a quiet and happy lifestyle, to drug dealers and criminals with guns and grow ops, and literally everything in betweem. High income families, low income families, criminals, and just plain old regular folks with families. So although the neighborhood is 'safe' for the most part, most people exercise atleast the minimum level of caution and security for their homes and vehicles.

Never lock our doors lol, Even left the rec room door open one day before I went to school, and It was still open when I got home, nothing stolen. I feel totally safe in my neighborhood, Can walk around ANY time of night and not be at risk for anything. Cops are pretty cool here too. Only in Canada......
