Alright guys, so there's this trojan going around that's relate to e-gold... I might have gotten it on my main PC so I'm on my laptop right now while I'm cleaning it up.

Basically there's a fake news article going around that looks something like this:

E-gold founder, Douglas Jackson, 51, of Sheridan, Mont., was 4 times shot and killed Friday night on the Seventh Street ramp at East Seventh Avenue by off-duty County Deputy Daniel Montana Jr., police said.

A spokesman for the Jackson’s family told Fox 31 that the autopsy details show the shots came from 3 to 7 feet away and were fired at a level angle, not from someone lying on the ground.

The investigation is ongoing, said DA spokeswoman Pam Russell.

More details at www.*******.ORG

If you go to the site which I censored out at the bottom it redirects you to a server and runs a malicious script which attempts to install a trojan on your computer, probably in order to steal E-gold information since this is obviously targeted towards E-gold users. You do not have to download anything to get the trojan, visiting the site is all it takes.

If you visit the site you should download a free trial of Sophos anti virus as they apparently can detect and remove it. Link to download can be found here: http://www.sophos.com/products/enterprise/free-trials/endpoint/

Most of you kids really don't know what your playing with. E-gold is used for Money Laundering, Drug Trade, Child Porn trade, Credit Card list trades, and a variety of other illicit activities. Even though the news story is fake I would not have been surprised at all if he was shot.

enjoy your trojans, IE-using fags

I have noscript

I was on FF when it happened to me, but I don't think I got it... my browser just did something strange so I scanned to be safe.

It happened to me when a friend showed me the news article in an IM convo and i tried to google it to look for more info.

just don't click on links your unsure about!

i never go to sites unless i like know what it is or if i google it and tell much about it.

like i only go to major sites like yahoo or sites my friends been to or sites that if i google them than it will tell much about it

If you had half a brain you'd know clicking a link on firefox isn't going to give you a virus.

Don't personally use E-Gold, but people who do should be careful.

I use paypal. Thanks for the heads up

haven't heard of this but the story sounds fake and makes me happy i use paypal :D
