Scoring a Penalty Kicks for Dummies

Ok so First of all, this guide is really intended to someone who is new to soccer and that play with his friends.

Ok so first of all, my technique resides 80% in the ball position as well as yours.

Step 1:Ok so you are going to need to actually position the ball depending on the goalkeeper positioning. When you play with your friends it is almost impossible that the goalkeeper is right in the perfect middle of the goal line. So if he is slightly left or right you going to put the ball the nearest of the goalkeeper you can on the round white spot. You are also going to put yourself the nearest possible of the ball you can. You may question yourself why all that. It’s all mathematics. The nearer to the goal keeper the ball is the faster it will get in the goal and nearer you are to the ball the faster you will kick. You combine those two and it result of the ball getting where you shoot faster into the net.



Step 2:After you have set your ball and yourself correctly, time to choose where to shoot. Check if the keeper is slightly to your right or to your left. If he's slightly to your left then kick right. If he is slightly to your right then kick left.

Step 3:Now comes how to actually kick the ball. I suggest you guys choosing accuracy over the power. You should always try to kick the ball in the lower corners as there is an almost 100% chance of you scoring. If you chose kick the ball with accuracy, try kicking it with the inside of your foot and making it curve into the corner (Lower corners as shown on the pictures by green spots).




If you did all these steps correctly, your friends will be amazed with your Penalty Kick skills. This is as well very likely to work in professional football matches too.

I tested all this myself on my friends as well as in amateur soccer match (U-15 AA Matches) and it worked very well. I remember missing my penalty one time and it was because I choose power over accuracy and it hit the crossbar.​
