I think the idea is that if there were a specified section for this, random topics which most people in the SFA or OT would not be interested in or do not have enough knowledge in the subject to make an intelligent answer.
I feel that I understand the type of threads that OP is talking about. My point is that these may get bumped out by more generalized topics.

Whether it would be active enough? That's the question.

I think adding Science to the technology section could work..

^ I like that, would save space as well as create a place for Science related topics to go.

I think it needs to at least wait until after the update. We currently have a whole bunch of inactive sections, why would we need another?

What about "after the update" will make anything different?
    I like Karl's idea.

I personally think that this section wouldn't be active, I don't even see science mentioned much in "homework help," so I'm going to not support this suggestion.

They could be very different though; one could ask for computer specs, another thread can ask why DNA's shape is a double helix, I don't think it'd work as well, regardless of whether or not activity increases.

Have to agree with you there, the two aren't really interchangeable and there would be some conflict in the topics discussed.

Yes, you guys are right. I misinterpreted it, as I rarely visit the Tech. section.
I still really like the idea of a Science section, but the main problem remains to be activity.

Well apparently there is talk of section compression so that the forum is less messy. A technology and science section would be better, but it would seem that it would be mostly - what computer should I buy? threads I would be afraid. I am just saying that we don't need another barely active section.

Why should it wait? It's only a merge between the technology section, which means no new section is begin made.

I don't get why "science" should be merged with "technology," there will be conflict in the subjects discussed. I've never seen science talked much around here, I'm not convinced that it would be an active topic regardless of whether or not it receives it's own section, or if it's merged with "technology." I've seen 10x support for sections like LoL, Minecraft, etc., those were at least subjects that were talked about somewhat, but as you can see those sections are pretty much inactive. This is why I don't support sections like these.

I was speaking about the previous suggestions made by one or two users. The suggestion was to merge Science & technology. I would suggest it, otherwise it will just be a dead section. And I'm agreeing with you already, I'm pretty sure it'll be empty since I've never seen any real interests in the subject.
