CHICAGO – Authorities say five people were shot at a high school on Chicago's South Side.

Fire Department spokeswoman Eve Rodriguez says five males were taken from inside Paul Laurence Dunbar Vocational Career Academy on Friday night. She says three are in serious condition and two are in critical condition.

Teenagers outside the school say there was a basketball game at Dunbar on Friday night.

Chicago Police Department spokeswoman Antoinette Ursitti (ER'-seh-tee) says it appears the victims were shot.

Police have blocked access to streets at least two blocks from the high school, and several ambulances and police cars are at the scene.

No one answered the telephone at the school.
