    School Decisions..

Heyo guys. I want some feedback and suggestions on my plan. Pretty much putting this out so i can rack my brain around what i'm thinking.

I'm in a course at camosun college in canada called Network And Electronics Technician (They are changing the course, it's now called computer systems electronic tech or something ) . By the end of this course i will hopefully be A+ and CCNA certified. But I really want to do more schooling. This course is also covering electronics, digital and analog, which i really also enjoy.

I've been looking at network tech jobs, (any IT job really) and they all seem to want people with a degree in Computer Science

As of this moment, i am thinking of doing one year of computer science (first year courses) at the same school i am at right now, then transferring to UVIC to save costs.

This is to save money and avoid those extremely stupidly large calculus and classes and other first year classes.

How easy would it be to switch into Electrical Engineering from computer science? Is there a huge gap?

I was also looking and they seem to have a Minor in something called electrical systems. I was considering that just because i enjoy electronics as well.

    OR

Consider doing a two year diploma in computer technology.

Would a certificate and a diploma (Both highly applied courses) stack up to a computer science major? As i feel this might be the same academically somebody hiring would be looking for. They don't even look at you without 6 years experience or a computer sci degree around here.

TL;DR some nerd saying if i should go work at mcdonalds or take computer science

Well the way jobs look at your qualifications these days.. It's best to go for the highest/better one. However, you just do what ever you want :) If you do what ever you want, you'll be happier and you can always do computer science another time.

    Also.. Moves to PS :)
