    User/IP Audit function

I am curious as to what the information produced from the User/IP audit function really means. I audited a potential customer and I noticed that they have a bunch of different accounts with the same IP ending + exact same hashed IP that have been banned previously.

If someone could provide some insight, that will be appreciated ^_^

It means that they use Sythe at a public wifi hotspot or they are ban evading.

"Please note that just because two users have posted from the same IP does not necessarily mean both accounts are owned by one person. Quite often people are posting from public places (universities, coffeeshops, and cellphones) and this may cause two unrelated users to be linked in this table. This search only gives you a rough idea that accounts might be linked, it is by no means definitive."

That's all its for. Mostly people use it to find ban evaders, starting by IP links and going from there to find actual proof.

Don't use it as a way to vet customers, just look at overall reputation. Vouches, donations, posts, join date, etc.

thanks for the input, kind of skeptical as this person has about 8-10 different usernames under the same hashed ip.

who's the user? you can pm a mod if you're suspicious of someone and have good reason (i.e. a little more than an ip match) to go off of

but yeah, that kind of thing happens. log on from a coffee shop, university, etc. and you're doomed to hundreds of ips
