The whole thing when a user scamms other users, should be banned forever.
With no opportunity or whatsoever to ever came back to this community.
Because every scammer will have their form to get the RSGP to re-pay the scammed user.
With the same mind, they will keep on scamming and even get into bigger scams.

I agree, every scammer should stay banned.

I like the idea for the GP going towards Sythe competitions or charity after a certain amount of time. If it's not claimed there's a chance of the holder getting wiped.

I hate that moderators are "holding" that RSGP and will eventually keep it for free, which I think in no case it's fair for a moderator to end up with the GP.

I agree that if the victims are not found then the person should stay banned and I also propose removing the possibility of mods to "hold" the money, as they, or upper staff will eventually keep it for free.

I do support this idea, on going like a competition or charity to donate the money towards the community.
This idea should be thought, in case scammers are unbanned.

Though you guys are mostly right about not allowing scammers back if they are unable to repay the actual victim I feel like their should be some exceptions to this situation.

What if someone was banned because they owed someone money and the person was not able to pay the person back at the time because he or she did not have the money. The person is banned from sythe for not paying back the person he or she owed. After the person obtained the money to pay back the person that he or she owed, the victim of the "scam" was long gone and unable to be found.

I feel it is unfair to keep these people banned that had every intention of paying / repaying the person that he or she owed, but are unable to because the victim no longer plays runescape or visits sythe.

But they got themselves in that situation because they scammed.

Support, some mods could have a lot of money just with the money and could easily run off with it when they get demoted. Just out of curiosity what happens when a mod is holding money and they get demoted? What happens to the gp?

They just hold on to it until the victim comes back but I doubt ictims never come back and they just keep it.

IMO donate it to sythe for server upkeep and whatnot if the victim can't be found in 4-6months, if they wanted the money back that much then they might care to check on sythe once in a while.

That's sort of not fair because, if they got scammed why would they think 4-5 months down the line the scammer will return their items. They think well they scammed no obviously don't want return them and leave and move on.

This idea is 1/2 denied and 1/2 approved. I'll write up something for staff lounge later this week. I have a proposal that is fair to everyone, the scammed, the scammer and the site.

Will update this thread when appropriate.
