Got scammed RIP

I usually never fall for those lousy scammers, but this guy was pretty smart, i'll give him that much. anyway, lost 277m.

Unfortunately i don't have his Sythe accounts, as he contacted me first. But i do have his Skype names. He was very clever using 2 different Skype accounts to trick me.

I know you admins can't do a lot without their Sythe accounts, but if you have some sort of list, you should add those Skype names from the screenshots.

Well it's a bit hard to explain, but I'll try anyway:

So, i commented on the real Bert's thread with maxed 07 melees, saying that i might be interested if the price was right or something. Then shortly after, i was contacted by an imposter of Bert on skype (i thought he was the real deal ofc). He told me that he wanted about 350$ for a maxed melee. I then asked him if he had something in the 80-100$ price range. He then sent me the skype of Gracious from this forum (also an imposter, probably the same guy using 2 skype accounts), saying that he might have something for me. After chatting with the fake Gracious, things started to get suspicious, and i then checked if the skype account matched Gracious on the forum, which it didn't. I then confronted him with the usual curse words that you use when you encounter an imposter. He then told me that he was trying to scam Bert (the imposter which i thought was real). And if i helped him he would split 50/50 with me. Since i'm not a scammer, i obviously told Bert about it (the fake one). And after chatting with Bert for a while now, he told me that he actually had an account, not maxed, but pretty good. He wanted 150$ for the account. And since i was almost out of money this month, we agreed on 75$ in EOC gold now, and the remaining 75$ in EOC gold when i got paid in the end of this month. I asked the fake Bert to PM me on sythe to verify that he was real. And since i'm a bit new on sythe, i didn't notice that all he did, was forwarding an old message from the real Bert to me. I obviously fell for the trick, and didn't think about it. But as soon as i had bought the 277m EOC gold (75$), and traded it to him, i immediately thought to myself, "SHIT i forgot to check if the skype accounts match". and BOOM, the bastard was gone. And now I'm broke lol.

Also i forgot to mention. The fake Gracious told me that we could use the fake Bert as a Middleman. And after i busted the Gracious imposter, he told me that he was just trying to scam Bert. I suspect that it was the same guy controlling both skype accounts, I'm probably not the first he scammed, i normally NEVER fall for this shizzle, but this guy was very, very smart.

 

Also if you check my "Tacobelly's Vouchers" thread, you can see that i bought the 277M from partypeteshop

 

wait, so if he forwarded a message to you (over sythe pm, i assume?) you should have his sythe account, no?

and i couldnt get any ips from those skypes - bummer :/

which on the first glance, looks legit to me. But since i didn't know that it's standard routine to copy/paste the chat log from Skype in the message, i literally had no chance against this guy lol.

When you forward a message, you can't even see who forwarded it, it just says, "From Bert" or "Sent by Bert" or something, which only makes it look even more legit.

So, to shoot some constructive criticism at you Sythe mods/admins, PLEASE add the feature to see who forwards random shit at you. PLEASE.

 

ahhh, damn. nothing we can do here unless someone pulls an ip from those skypes.
