Scammed by Roary!

let me explain to you why it was your fault and why you don't blame the victim

If I change my display name to 'Superman' and saying hey Roary send a pm to my Sythe with a message saying this exactly "we are talking right now". Instead of Roary verifying he is talking to the correct person before Roary decides to send a PM and worst of all a PM that is vague and nothing like "talking to you on... current conversation is..." Roary decided to just send pm.

Now in my case, I asked for a PM therefore i did the right thing, the 'impersonator' asked me to verify in a specific way so i did! If they asked me to verify that they were talking to them, and i just carelessly sent out a pm that was saying whatever they wanted me to, then I would be liable as equally as you are. But i never sent out a PM. You were tricked and i was scammed. Just like a person who gets hacked is tricked, you are the one liable for disbursement.

The fact that there is no TWC or anything is beyond me. I get that you're a mod but anyone else that would of been the very least until this cleared up, I've been on Sythe as long as you my man and just cause you were allot more involved it shouldn't give you any privileges over other users.

You gave me the Skype id to confirm it was Roary however it appeared you already gave him the gp so I assumed you got someone else to confirm it was him. When I added the Skype id I had a brief chat with the imposter thinking it was actually Roary and for some reason he told me that he accidentally overpaid you and requested me to tell you, so I did. This is beside the point since you already made the trade before this point. If this is the reason why you think the imposter Skype is actually Roary some reason, I am confirming that at no point did Roary actually tell me that Skype belonged to him.

I still don't believe I am any more responsible or think it was solely my fault, but Muzza and I were friends and I'd hate to see someone think I was unfair or be hurt by my carelessness. I've agreed to refund the 86M in instalments until it has been fully refunded and Muzza has agreed to this.

A new rule should be made that a moderator shouldn't send messages to people unless they verify who they are talking to. You here just assumed because i made the trade, that it had to of been Roary.

I disagree with you still as i had stated when someone is careless with there sythe (for example gets hacked, doesn't verify anonymous people requesting pms/messages) and then the impostor/hacker scams, that careless person owes full responsibility of his account and is required to payback the victim completely before he is unbanned, i understand no temp ban is going to be made nor do i want to see one implemented but i don't see why any alterations to this should be made with the outcome.

Although i do take in consideration Roary's current predicament which has let all staff know (showed me a qoute of his post in SL). Hence why i wanted him to make sure he wanted to do this and could do this. Although we still disagree as to whether he is liable. I think that Roary is a good guy and a reliable moderator therefore would highly appreciate and implore any admins if his repayment could be his only consequence (if any intentions were sought to be further) for an isolated incident where he was careless.
