Briefly explain the trade: I posted in his thread called "Ask Nate Anything" (http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=842194). In the OP it said

Any and all questions will be answered

So the trade was me giving a question to him and in return I would receive knowledge that he had.

How they scammed: I asked

Holden Caulfield is clearly alienated from society. What are the causes for his alienation? Are his reactions justified? What would you have Holden do?

Minimum 600 words, Max 1,000

He replied with

lol well played sir.

Therefor, I gave the question (which was my end with the deal), but he did not give me the knowledge of the answer.

Proof that you were not talking to an impostor: It was over sythe posts, therefor it is not an impostor unless he got hacked.
