I'm not sure if this has been suggested before.
A lot of people look at users' donations as a sign that they can trust them, since they invested money into the site, presumably from their business on the site (in some cases). Unfortunately we're seeing a lot of big donors scamquitting, sometimes for amounts less than what they donated.
I believe it'd be a good idea to let users interested in doing business deposit currency (BTC, 07, etc) into Scam Insurance, held by either a highly trusted user, admin, OMM, etc. There could be a thread (or multiple threads, if there's more than one user taking the deposits, kinda like donations) and the OP could be edited to include a list of insured users and the amount they're insured for.
This means, obviously, if someone who has deposited money scams somebody, the victim can be paid back immediately with those funds, rather than waiting possibly years for the scammer to feel bad and decide to repay victims and rejoin Sythe.
Another option is that a user's insured amount can appear next to their username, and say something along the lines of "INSURED: $x" Of course this creates extra work for admins or whoever's in charge of such things, so having a thread works just as well.
If you have anything you'd like to add to this suggestion feel free to post it below.
