i'm too fucking lazy to link for you fucks but there have been studied that showed that after a certain threshold of salary you don't get any happier. once you can live without massive amounts of stress about living in a building where 4 people got murdered this month you don't get much happier with more money. winners of lotteries also get happier for a month or a year or two and then they go back to how happier they were before. if you were a miserable fuck with 50k a year and suddenly have 100M you'll be a miserable fuck again soon enough, you miserable fuck

It really depends on where in the world you're from. My best friend grew up somewhere where a family of 4 lives off of no more than about $5,000 A YEAR. Now she's studying in US at a university where people are of the mindset that not getting 6 figures out of undergraduate is "failure."

At the end of the day, just do something you love and make sure you're making enough to live comfortably. For some, that means working 80-100 hour weeks with the goal of making $250,000+ some day. For others it means working 9-5 and making maybe $50,000 a year. As long as you're happy with it, that's what matters.
