He's actually right. There has been quite literally 0 bans out of Guideline followers in over 4 years. August 10th, 2008 was the date RiD reached its current quality, and since then, like I said, there has been straight up 0 bans following Guidelines. RiD 2.0 is soon to be released, which brings everything to a whole new level.
Correct, there is always a chance of ban. Guidelines just lessen it. But right now it is not near as safe as it used to be
Guidelines lessen it, aye? More like actually obliterate the chance of ban if you're using RiD. If RiD was detectable, you'd see bans out of Guideline Followers, but there has been absolutely 0 in over 4 years. The only bans the site has ever encountered have been when Jagex Mods manually go in-game, invisible most often, and they manually go through player's play-time history and other information they have, and when they find enough information (the only information they can ever get is if you are breaking Guidelines, if you're following them, they can't find anything) they can and will ban you. And before all of the derps start to reply to this part: Yes, J Mods have the ability to be invisible, I have witnessed it while I was botting with RSBot (now Powerbot) and I had the feature on that made a dot & username pop up of any players/NPCs, and I saw a J Mod's name and a dot show up a few squares away from where I was botting, saw it move around, etc. Since I was just testing out a script on a throwaway account, I said, "Hey Mod XXX, what's up?" This made it blatantly obvious to him that I was using some form of client or software that allowed me to see invisible players/objects/etc, and I was almost immediately banned for macroing. This was back in ~2009 or so, but I've seen pictures of this same thing happening recently.
Anyway, like I said, Guideline following doesn't just lessen the chance with RiD, it completely removes it. If Jagex could ban Guideline followers then they would have over the last 4 years, but they haven't, period.
Again, all of the bans have been manual J Mod sweeps against Guideline Breakers; if their automated detection systems could detect it, then there would be ban reports out the ass with J Mod notes mentioning BotWatch, which none of them have.
And this next line is for both of you: If you don't know shit about a bot or the details for how Jagex catches bots, and you don't have any statistics to back yourself up, then I highly encourage you sit the fuck down and educate yourselves before making false statements that have no credibility and have no experience or knowledge about what is being talked about. Don't talk about shit you know nothing about, as it only makes you look like a fool.
If you take the same "guidelines" and apply them to the better scripts on simba, you basically get the same ban chance.
Is that why I've seen multiple bans with private scripts, even following Guidelines? I've only been given an explanation that they were caught because they were reported.. Well no shit, reporting is how Jagex investigates and bans accounts. They can be a little slow to act on them sometimes, but that's the most common way they get people. Reporting a user using RiD means jack shit. Nothing will happen because of it. We have users come on the forums sometimes freaking out because they got reported and asking what they should do, and everyone tells them wgaf, keep botting, being reported doesn't matter. Even manual investigations, as in they come up to you in-game, even invisible, and looking at your records, do not matter if you're following Guidelines.
-------------------------------------------------
RiD (Robotz in Disguise) has never failed me. I've been using them since early 2010, and over the last 2 and a half years I've used their bots for just under 3400 hours, earned 14 99s on my main & 99 fletching on my def pure. I've gained well over 200mil exp with the bots on my main alone, not counting the 2 other accounts I've used RiD on (99 fletching + 85 mining). I've witnessed myself get reported well over 40 times, and I'm sure it's happened dozens more times considering I rarely babysit, or if I am on the computer while I'm botting, I usually minimize it or keep it in the background. Still, 2 and a half years later, no macro offenses, despite being a consistent Guideline breaker.
It's been around since 2007, and reached its current quality on August 10th, 2008. Since then there has been 0 bans following Guidelines, and only 48 bans over these same 4 years out of the Guideline breakers. They went over a year without any bans whatsoever, even out of the Guideline Breakers and Suiciders, until 11 Guideline Breakers were picked off from manual J Mod Sweeps, because consistently breaking Guidelines leaves enough of a trace for Jagex to ban you if they are doing manual sweeps in-game. Followering Guidelines, Jagex hasn't caught a single user, even over 4 years of operation in its current form.
Now, the bots are currently down for maintenance because RiD (the owner and
only programmer) is prepping them for the release of RiD 2.0, which will be better than ever before, and is designed to stand up against a perfect automated detection system without problems. RiD releases the first bot of his that uses 2.0 technologies on Wednesday (possibly a bit later; he has a ton of new ideas he wanted to add at the last minute). I'm not sure if it will a full site release or just Veteran+ (meaning botted a minimum of 1,000 premium hours) testing until it's perfect. Either way, it is the start of the integration to the new 2.0 platform. The mods have been beta testing the new bot (that was due for release for Vet+ beta last week, and full release this week, before RiD postponed it for the work required for 2.0) and many of them are clocking 20+ hours a day, even since the Botany Bay/BotWatch update, and none of them have had any problems, nor have they been banned at all. Keep in mind that Jagex has not released BotWatch everywhere in RS yet. They are slowly and methodically turning it on in different areas of the game because they don't want to rush things and end up with a mistake like the 40,000 legit accounts being banned again. If you're using a detectable bot, then may the Gods help you once Jagex has activated BotWatch in your area. Jagex has already eliminated bots from many areas of the game, and they will be closing in on the rest as the following weeks or even months pass by. This means that eventually they will have their system activated everywhere, meaning, if it's as good as they claim it to be, will mean the elite of botting will remain, while the weak and inadequate bots crash and burn. Not to mention the fact that Jagex intends to press civil and criminal charges against the owners of Powerbot & Epicbot. The new botting era after that will be interesting once the top 2 competitors are eliminated from the botting community, just like Nexus last year. Keep in mind also that once the Optimus Bot Nuke hits (it's been postponed until an unknown time because of the recent mistake of banning legit accounts, they want to go slower until they know everything is working as intended), this will mean that the only bots remaining in the game again will be color, and most likely OpenGL (unless Optimus somehow figures out a way to fuck with OGL, which from what I've heard, is unlikely). There will be RiD, Simba, Scar, Runedream, Convinbot, Veloxbot, TriBot, and *maybe* DynaMac (if they truly will be functional after the nuke, as they claim). All of these sites have relatively small communities compared to the giants of Epicbot & Powerbot, and this means, even with the flood of injection/reflection users to these new sites, there will be tens of thousands less accounts in RS at a time, which means BotWatch will have a lot less accounts to monitor, and will have more features/areas added to it, meaning many more bans, much faster bans, and with that, a large discouragement to bot. Bots that beat the new system will be flooded with new users and this will mean a very large change among the different communities. Many are in disbelief about many claims from different sites, but only time will prove who is right.
