When you're buying and selling NP (Neopoints), you want to avoid freezes by TNT (The Neopets Team), so you need to find a safe way to xfer the NP from one account to another.
There are 4 main methods that are used, which will all be explained here.​

The Shop

• The Shop is a common method for trading NP, as it has it's pros and cons. A good thing for example is that thousands of items are shifted through shops daily so it's unlikely to be traced.
• However, a bad thing is that the maximum price is 99,999NP.
  • How To Sell Via the Shop - Get the buyer to put a junk item up for 99,999NP, and then you can purchase it. Do this until you've completed their order.
  • How To Buy Via the Shop - List junk items in your shop at 99,999NP, and get the seller to purchase them. Do this for the amount of your order.

Auctions

• With auctions, there are a few things you need to do:
  • Make sure that you add the other trader as a neofriend
  • Make sure that you both have an hour
• Auctions have no price limits, but don't be too stupid, otherwise you'll just get frozen for blatent trading.
• If you have NP only auctions, they are pretty secure, as nobodys going to outbid a huge bid for something worth like 5k, but you have to wait an hour for the auction to end.

• How To Sell Items Via the Auction House
  • Set the NP amount low and the increment to 1 and make sure you have it set for neofriends only.
  • Have the buyer offer on the item and after an hour.
  • The auction should close and you will have sold an item to the user.
• How To Buy Items Via the Auction House
  • The same applies, but have the seller of the item send you a link to the auction.
  • Just offer on it and wait for the auction to end, which should take one hour.
• How to Sell NP Via the Auction House
  • Have the buyer of the NP put an item for auction, and set the NP amount of the trade.
  • Remember to account for the increment, so the bid will be the starting price + the increment.
• How to Buy NP Via the Auction House
  • Put a item up for auction, choose the price and remember the increment issue.
  • Have the seller offer that price, and wait for the auction to end.

Trading Post

• Items and NP can be traded here, with a maximum of 800,000 NP's in a trade.
• The main advantage here is that you can trade multiple items.

• How To Sell Items via Trading Post
  • Put the items in the TP, have the buyer offer a junk item, make sure it's his account that's made the offer, accept it and you've sold the items to the user.
• How To Buy Items via Trading Post
  • Do the above, but the other way around.
  • Always check that the offer you accept is from the right person, as if it's a good deal you're likely to get spammed by offers.
• How To Sell NP via the Trading Post
  • Have the buyer list an item, and you can offer up to 800k for it.
  • Offer it, let him accept, and keep doing this until the order is completed.
• How To Buy NP via the Trading Post
  • Place an items on the TP, wait for the seller to put the amount up for trade, and then accept the offer.
  • Then you will have the NP's on your account after you've accepted his offer.

Gifting

• Gifting is a direct way of giving items to NeoFriends, but you cannot trade NP this method.
• How To Sell Items via Gifting
  • Select the item in your inventory
  • Choose the give to neofriend option
  • Type in his neopets account name. The item will be sent.
• How to Buy items via Gifting
  • Let the seller do the gift send
  • You should recieve a message of an item being recieved
  • Click the little link provided in the message and you will recieve the item
