    Tried logging in only to be informed that I was banned, checked my Skype and this guy I sold a name to last week told me he'd gotten me banned due to the name being sniped.

    So firstly I'd like to say that I've not been avoiding the guy, I've been very busy irl and have barely had time for Sythe nor RS. Secondly I'd like to make it clear that there is no chance that this guy is being refunded. Let me give you a brief run down of what happened.. I was selling him a rare name, we spoke for awhile and came to the agreement of 350m RS3 (320m after bonds). He'd never done this before so I gave him a rundown of what to do, told him that after I change the name twice on the rare account, and IMMEDIATELY after the second change to take the name. So I changed the name twice, making sure he was ready before both attempts. After the second change, his attempt to take it was unsuccessful due to it being sniped.

    He then became enraged and instantly accused me of taking it, "How could anybody take it that fast they wouldn't have time to load up a new client to take it." Clearly he is unaware of the extend some people go through to snipe names, and that it's a huge underground business that negatively impacts legitimate businesses like my own. Also, the mod that banned me (Superfluos) seems to know nothing about name transferring.. Not throwing shots around but his reply to the scammer thread linked above implied that he doesn't know that after 2 name changes the name becomes available. Would be grand if a mod more suited in this area could check it out.

    Anyway. Superfluos said I must refund the guy 50% (which would be 175m or 160 RS3) in order to be unbanned. As I said, this is not happening. Refunding people when names get "sniped" is open to far too much abuse. Who's to say the guy didn't take it himself on another account, and is now trying to extort me for money?

    This isn't the first time a name has been sniped during the sales process, it also happened with "Troop" and "Noxious", neither of which I had to refund. But thankfully, all of my larger value sales have gone smoothly. I'll be back tomorrow, expecting to be unbanned.

    Oh, almost forgot to mention. I recorded the entire process, from the Skype conversation to the name transfer itself. I'll upload the video if it's necessary. Thanks.

    1 - people don't make reports when they get things the way they're supposed to be

    2 - there is precedent for a 50/50 split in the event of a name being sniped, so that's what i've gone with here.
