Ry Cooder, Johnny Greenwood

These two highly regarded guitarists have each collaborated with very distinct musicians to produce some incredible music that incorporates many different styles. They have this in common that they allow their contribution to be something like an ambiance, allowing their collaborators to be at fore of the music.

Last year Junun was released. Greenwood produced the album and contributed, among other intruments, subtle guitar and synth:




Cooder of course has been engaged in musical cross-over since at least early as the 1990s. He too, a legendary guitarist in his own right, here adds only a delicately hypnotic slide guitar:
