Runescape - What is happening.

On February first you all know free trade and the "wilderness" was brought back into runescape. As you may have noticed if you've been playing has brought all the scammers/hackers and overall transforming everyone into a money hungry behemoth we call the runescape playerbase. Scamming has increased MAJORLY as well as hacking (IE:Arbibot,Powerbot). There are so many people trolling around the sythe.org forums right now scamming cash. Earlier i had witnessed a IRC chat with a trader looking to trade his red partyhat for IRL Western union cash. This was his first time using sythe.org and he had commented many times how many scammers he had talked to in only the first TEN MINUTES of his post. Even staking 1 mill at a time there are so many sad scammers who are using the SOL lending bug. I've lost over 200m/$200 usd to scammers. RUINscape is turning to complete shit. What happened to earning your cash the right and legit way? All in all- I believe free trade/wilderness is a lot worse then we imagined and will very likely be the downfall of runescape. Before free trade was removed it wasn't even this bad. Everyone is just a money hungry noob who scams and cheats to get ahead.

TL;DR Runescape is shit now.

Edit: yes this is very one sided. Trade and wildy update also brought back good things too.

I've been playing since 2004. Yes i was. It is TERRIBLY worse.

 

Not really.. scamming was huge back then and its just the same now.

 

Old Runescape with modern graphics....cant beat that. Only way people get hacked or scammed its their own fault even scamming, lureing, & hacking have been apart of the game since it began. Almost every online game is the same way.

 

Scamming is def. gonna be in order.

 

Its really bad now because theres a LOT more GP in the economoy than there used to be. Instead of the scams only being for a few hundred k they are in the mils.

Also people that havent played pre 2008 dont know any of the old scams and fall for them. Give it a month or two and things will calm down a bit. People will learn and scammers will get tired of their scams not working once people have adapted.

 

Everybody is like this because the wilderness and staking are back and new to the Runescape.

Give it a month people will give up and this will all blow over, there will still be scammers but they will decrease as time goes by.

 

I just agree That GLitch/Abuse kinda Suck really high, scammer always been here.

Jagex should pay crab to fix some of them

 

I have lost $0 to scammers and have traded over $500 worth of RS goods.

Be smart, and you won't get scammed. Also, avoid the Duel Arena until runescape fixes the bugs:/

 

I disagree, it's pretty good at the moment, the next jagex financial report will more than likely agree too.

 

Hm, there's going to be a lot of duel arena glitches because some top glitchers are coming back for free trade :/
Just don't be a noob and you won't get scammed.

 

Regardless of what updates Jagex decides to release, scamming will still be here. Free trade may have brought back scammers, but you cannot rid scammers forever. They are everywhere, and will always find some form of scam.

Jagex personally does not care about the members, or the community, they just care about sales. After the "Free Trade, and Wilderness" update, it pretty much tripled their sale count. Countless amounts of people are buying Account Upgrades due to Free Trade. You take one step into the G.E. and you will have several players spamming "Follow me to win 1mil!" they then proceed to lead the players into the building next to the west bank in varrock, where juliet is, to play "The Trust Game." You will also see several players selling an iron spit, or royal crown, or any other items for 4-5mil above its actual value, and you will see a player 20 feet away buying that same item for 30-40mil more than what the actual item is worth. This is the way it was throughout Runescape history, and sadly enough, it is going to be the same all the way through.

Will it be Runescape's downfall? Of course not, people will continue to create accounts whether it be Skiller's or Pures or any other type of account. People are obsessed with money. They will do anything they can to become rich, and it's all for "Youtube" publicity. They want to be known as the richest player on runescape.

TL;DR? I don't mind, these are just personal thoughts.

 

I hope the scamming does go down, it's absolutely absurd at the moment. A good 7/10 people staking are just there to rip people off, be it by the old tricks like quickly turning off a piece of armour or new stuff like SoL glitching. On the first day of staking I even saw the fabled combat level switch trick, I imagine that's going to rake in money from players who've never staked before and don't think to look at anything other than the opponent's name.

 

You're really a complete moron, aren't you? I lost count of how many times I've heard "This will be the downfall of RuneScape," and "I told you so." It's your own little fault you went staking despite being aware of how people are and how far they'd go just to cheat. Q.Q some more about how much you've lost, and you're never gonna get it back.

As for scamming... Jesus Christ, are you too dumb to even double check the secondary trade window?

 

It's his personal opinion. Don't come to this post if you intend to "Flame" someone because they despise scammers. He has every right. It's ignorant pricks that ruin todays discussion board. Grow up bud.

 

Do you use that excuse on every thread, even if you say "The sky is green"? I just woke up, and I'm really not in the mood for that typical nonsense.

 

Actually, I believe I have only posted that once, but nice exaggeration. It's only typical nonsense when you don't agree with it. Sure it probably wasn't the smartest thing for him to do. He knows there are scammers, and he knew he was taking a risk. He also has the right however, to be upset over the loss, and to post about it. You can come in here all you want and flame him, but it just makes you look like a tit. Nice TWC "Scammer"
