This. Harped is purposefully destroying the RS economy.

Seriously though, rares go through cycles. They rise, then crash some, rise some more, crash some. But eventually, will rise. They are the best investment you can make.

    Greens go for around 60m
    Blues go for around 70-80m
Red go for 100+m (Believe it or not)

ALOT of people are saying Greens are going to EVENTUALLY in TIME pass blues and maybe even reds. I'll post some info from RS forums that is very detailed about this subject.

(This was posted on RS FORUMS at 06-Feb-2010 17:08:48) But it still applys

    Here:

    Blue H'ween: 55.2m max
    Green H'ween: 44.4m max

    8 x Blue H'ween mask = 441.6mil
    10 x Green H'ween mask = 444mil

The difference is 2.4mil (that can be neglected)

So basically 8 Blue is equal to 10 Green in market value.

Using Today's update values: According to Green & Blue updating together.

    [2 day update cycle]

    8x Blue (2mil update) = 16mil
    10x Green (1.6mil update) = 16mil

--- According to this, investing in one or the other mask makes no difference at all.

    =========================================================================

Now if we examine red H'ween as well

    Red H'ween 71.9 max
    Blue H'ween: 55.2m max
    Green H'ween: 44.4m max

    3 x Red H'ween mask = 215.7mil
    4 x Blue H'ween mask = 220.8mil
    5 * Green H'ween mask = 222mil

    Avg investment: 219.5mil
(The average difference between these investments is ~ 2.533mil)

We will be studying these on a 6 day ge update cycle.

    [6 day update cycle]

    3x Red (2.6mil x 2 updates) = 15.6mil
    4x Blue (2.0mil x 3 updates) = 24.0mil
    5x Green (1.6mil x 3 updates) = 24.0mil

    [Conclusion]
Based on these calculations the Lower two of the three H'ween mask valued on the GE are a better investment. Yet, the lower two are both risky to crashing while the higher of the three is more stable most of the time.

I hope this is helpful to everyone who is wondering how to invest their money in the H'ween market. If you would like analysis of any other items please feel free to pm me in the game.

(The values will change during each update, but the calculations remain the same)

    (c) February 2010 ~Fensation Inc.~

Basically red updates every 3 days while blue updates ever 2.5 days and green updates every 2 days..

Ok guys. What is currently happening in the runescape economy is that it is going through a period of inflation. If we think back to the summer, when everything was cheap, that was a period of deflation. You can combine all the graphs on the grand exchange into one graph. This shows that all prices on average are basically reaching their peak price right about now. It is a good bet that by march, most items in the game will start decreasing in price, and probably bottom out sometime In in the summer and begin to rise again. There are a number of factors contributing to this fluctuation in price. The first is simpli increased number of players. The second is currently, there is big demand for lots of items. But the demand will not always be there, because eventually people will sell items, and so the demand is slowly being filled.
If you do not want to lose a ton of money, I would suggest selling some of your expensive items at the beginning to middle of march, or just when April is starting. Because as soon as the prices start to fall, EVERYONE will sell off, creating even lower prices which makes people sell them for even lower prices, and which in turn keeps lowering the price.

    Hope this helps :)

The main issue is pvp drops, it brings more gp into the game causing inflation.

I'm not trying to be a dick, but green will never pass red. It will always be green, blue, red.

It's been like that for the past 6 years, and it's not about to change.

To answer all the "is it going to drop soon?" questions: No. If people are buying over trade, then it will NOT fall. Only rise. Until this stops happening it won't crash.

Oh dude I know. I totally disagree with it too. I'm not one of those people. Red is just a more popular color in my mind. But yeah what I included in my post was just some info based on a lot of RS players on official forums.

My god I am so pissed off at myself for selling my santa at 32m. I bough it at 29 and then sold at 32 thinking it was going to crash. But boy did I learn my lesson. But please to all people who really think Santa is going to keep going on this little trend realize that there still is a possibility that Chessy018 still has those santa's and is trying to make an attempt herself to raise the prices. Who knows but still. Santa is going down sooner or later.. It has to. If it actually passes green mask I will just be blown out my mind..

People with rares are getting banned, dieing(irl), forgetting password, Etc. therefore making all the prices fly up. When there's only 1 santa hat the owner can make the price whatever he wants to.

Hell yeah, I'm almost 99 fishing, I've been fishing my ass off at rocktails for the past month, trying to get a hold of a santa.. But, they're rising like nuts.

They'll crash soon. Way too many of them, too unstable.

It won't pass green, street price for it is nuts!

They're most likely going higher because they are a limited item.
If there were 500,000 santa hats in the first place, a lot of those should disappear due to the owners being killed while wearing them, banned, stopped playing, etc. And many of the players who were safe about it do not want to sell them. As a result the price goes up.

The merchanting clans are manipulating the prices. They'll go down soon.

It's cause of the asshole merchant clans who like screwing everyone over to turn there 100ms into a lot more. It is also due to what else has been said.
    Pretty sad really.
