Runescape now has ads on login...

When you choose your world, when you click 'click to play' it will pop up and you have to watch it until you login..

This will be shit, 30 secs to hop and then + 10 for the ad..

 

Jagex need money...

 

Them and their money earning schemes... it's getting worse by the week.

 

Is it only for free to play? I really hope it is..

 

If your not paying for the game you can't really complain that's just how the internet works these days. I logged in with a couple of my old f2p accounts and I didn't get anything like this. Maybe it's only for newly created accounts? Not sure.

I dont get these adds either.
Maybe its regional / country based, but anyways, its just sad what they are all doing to make money..

 

I recall getting these years ago, don't know if they've brought them back again. But when you think about it, they'll do anything for money.

They shouldn't do this. World hopping is a part of their game.
crowded training spots, specialized worlds, runite mining, pking, ...
It was frustrating enough as it was, but if you have to sit trough an add each time you hop... Damn

 

They are doing it because they need more revenue now that they had those mass bans and the "bot nuke day"... a lot of the autoers they banned were member accounts.

I think its for the United States of America or UK Maybe, because in my country it doesnt show that or similar ad. Since the US & UK have the highest priority in advertising, Jagex will allow those 2 biggest countries, plus Jagex is changing the face of runescape and the face of waiting. What more changes they need to make? While playing an ad box will appear? They need to stop this shit if this becomes real in future lol

 

Do people still not realise Jagex are not some charity making this game out of the kindness of there hearts, there a legitimate business like any other company I fail to see why runescape players feel some sort of resentment for a legitimate company trying to boost profits in the current economic climate, every company is struggling at the moment.

 

Just be thankful that Runescape isn't 100% members only.
