Runescape Lag.. Need Assistance.

Sounds like it's your computer that's causing the problem, ever think of just replacing it?

 

If it happens between 30 mins - 1 hour of your comp being on, open your task manager, click on the processes tab. Then click show processes from all users. Then look to see if your computer is running anything you don't need. (For Example, My computer randomly starts up the windows Media Player sharing service which decides to use like 50% of my cpu, this usually causes my comp to spazz out. when i close it, it works fine.) if you fail to find anything that's making your computer run slow, find the process called Java Dot Exe, (the one that's using cpu) right click on it and change the priority to high. This might help, but you never know. it works for me also, try using the runescape client if you dont already o:

Thanks for the response. I checked my java settings and I realized some of the settings were off. I'm going to turn the settings on and see what happens.

Also, try running runescape on the Normal Cpu setting instead of Max, that may help.

Honestly it sounds like your computer is just too dated to play RS. I see no other reason why it would only start to lag in crowded areas. This is a drop in FPS type of lag, right? Your connection should have no effect on your FPS so it shouldn't be that, either.

 

What are your system specs?

 

Check to see if your Internet speed is good because I believe when your in a place really populated like the GE, you use more internet speed than usually.. I think it's called Bandwidth. So yeah, maybe it's just your internet but I am not sure of this. Go to a friend's house and try your Macbook there or use a home computer if you have one to see if it's your MacBook or Internet.

Bump.. Can't even log in anymore.. Gf my computer...

 

Reset your Macintosh hd with disk utility, this happens to me too, but it got much better once I did that. I don't dc anymore, but I lag for a second when I run in big groups of people.

 

Tried this and had no luck.

UPDATE: Downloaded FireFox to try and solve the problem. Clicked "Play Now" and all there is, is a black screen. It does not even ask me if I want to run java. Heres a pic:







Offering a free 20m for someone who can help me resolve this problem. That's right $20 worth of mils ($1/m). I can't take this anymore and don't have the money for a new computer. So how can I solve this problem with FireFox? I tried running fore java as well and am still getting this black screen.

 

hey man i'm having the same problem. I have a macbook and it only lags in the wilderness which pisses me off. I have tried everything, i even bought a new harddrive, and it didn't work. If you find anything that works pleasseee pm me.
