    RuneScape Item scamming

Is it against the rules or not because to me it seems very similar to luring? Also I am talking strictly about in-game item scamming.

I.e Trade me for free armor trimming.

Scamming is Scamming , no matter what way you put it , So I think yes - It is most likely against the rules.

They are different in the sense that Sythe has a huge black market section which relies greatly on trust. Once Item scamming becomes popular (even through ingame only) it WILL eventually spill over to the forums. Why will someone scamming ingame RS not scam on sythe? You can keep your anonymousity either way :)

Luring - Tricking a person into trusting me so I can kill them for their items.
Item Scamming - Tricking a person into giving me their items.

What's the difference? And luring can also spill over to the forums. For example I post a thread on sythe looking for some people to come pking but in reality I am just luring them.

I don't think scamming on runescape should be ban-able with luring not being ban-able - just all talk of it should be deleted and infracted.

That's the point I am trying to make. Perhaps one of us should make a suggestion thread.

Scamming in RS should be a TwC here.
Ban if the trade was from here.

unfortunately it's pretty much impossible to link a runescape account to a sythe account.

If luring is not bannable, then scamming shouldn't be either.... they both use deception to gain an advantage over a player and win Gp

There are scams for the stupid, and more elaborate scams worked on higher level players and the same goes with luring....

I mean i could find someone on sythe, ask him to lure with me with his phat and kill him
    that would be fine ?

to be honest, i think it shouldn't be allowed

Luring and Scamming are actually revolving around the same concept.

But of course luring is more indirect compared to scamming and many of the users here will lure regardless of sythe's policies/rules.

Items are sold here on Sythe, Lures arent.

So if someone scams an item, essentially, they could scam items in a trade.
Luring is strictly an ingame feature. if someone lures one of our members on purpose (via the forums), then we'd punish. but if you kept it strictly to the game, then I dont see a problem, but only luring.

Well, you should have banned everyone that did merch clans if we are following this logic. To make a profit then dumped their items on others, scamming in the same mindset.

This has already been discussed by the staff. Basically any luring in-game will be treated as a gameplay manipulation in Runescape and no punishment will be given out for it. Sythe is a cheating site and always has been.

However, if anyone has been caught scamming in-game and is found to be related to Sythe (I.E has an active account) will be dealt with, on a case by case basis. In-game scamming is the equivalent of scamming on Sythe, example - not paying the seller for the item you purchased. It will not be taken lightly. Punishments will be issued for it.

I hope this has cleared the mindset.

On the side note, would a global please edit the rules so this is clearly visible to everyone and is not kept as an "un-written rule".

    Thanks.

No staff member has presented any feasible logic as to why luring should be allowed and in-game item scamming should not.

It's all incredibly flawed thinking smeared with feces.

Simply say what it is. You want luring to be legal because you want to be able to lure.
