Runescape Grand Exchange Crash?

Well. It's finally here. Most every item ingame has crashed to the exchange. Even rares. I've lost 40M today. I'm wondering. Should I wait a couple of days to buy any rares? Or are they just going to keep going down?

 

Crash will most likely be temporary, but whether the items will reach their pre-crash prices is seriously questionable.

I would wager to say no.

 

I'm wondering if it's going to be like the old trade and every item hits a certain spot, and doesn't change. The wilderness, and staking is back. Therefore, I don't see why the items would keep rising and falling as they've done for the past 3 years.

 

I doubt it.

The GE makes trading easier, which makes manipulation easier.
Which I would guess leads to increased item fluctuation?

 

Dang, got quite a bit in masks and santa's and they dropped quite badly.

 

Some of the items are worth to much anyway i mean seriously 1.3B for a partyhat? they need to crash.

 

They're the big items, though. No trade limit, people manipulated like hell.

 

I agree with determinate, the fact that the GE exists makes prices easy to change. Pre-GE the general market set a price for things, and it didn't change much. Example Rune Scimmies were 25-30k the entire 2 years I played before the updates. Now with the GE there isn't a really set price for anything, it is just based on what people are buying/selling for in the ge.

 

Party hats are overpriced, all other items are quite stable, and looks like you one of those people who just panic sell and cause prices to crash. I got few masks sets, and i would never be worried about price, as i bought it just as collectible. So you should't be worried if item hasn't rose a lot like p hats, and was stable before.

 

Maybe people are starting to realize that gear is more important than extremely costly paper hats, with no stats.

Rares will always raise.

 

As always, crash is temporally. A week before wildy & trade came back santas crashed as hell, but after a week or two, they shoot up to 100m. If I were you, I would try NOT to panic, and keep them for some time when at least you can recover what you lost.

 

rares are going to be mad crashing at the moment because of the double xp weekend coming up, after tho they will go back up

 

the crash is like always because of the announcement of the double xp weekend -- skillers all over are dumping their items to buy up 99s, this isn't new and it isn't news.

if you are looking to buy a rare, i would do it between now and a week from DEW.

 

^this. About a week from now will probably be the best opportunity to buy rares in a long time.

GE is great, now you don't have to look on forums for something you need.
