Runescape allegedly infiltrated by crime "clans".

This problem wouldn't be too hard to rectify really, like in the beta where they changed all the flowers to being red, it only takes some minor changes to stop it.

Back when I first started I never remember gambling, most of the money was made from skilling, merching and pking. The only reason the guy racked up such a huge amount of debt is because he was buying the mills. On top of that, how can Jagex stop people from using Irc gambling channels? It's not even really related to Runescape, couldn't people do the same in about every other MMO?

I also don't get the part about commission, he got commission for inviting other players into the clan. I don't think I've ever heard of clans paying people to invite more into them, not with money at least.

 

Wow.. not sure how to respond to this but I'm going to spread this around to everybody I know.

Honestly, I do not know why they a regarded to as "criminal gangs"

I don't think it's right to prey on people to make money like some do I have seen people keep going back and back losing money each time and the host's don't tell them to stop even when its clear there is an issue.Like someone above stated the parents need to be aware of what their children are doing online and learn to spot a problem early on.This game really is going downhill now :c

 

Eventually Jagex will crack down on gambling clans but the question is when? It's all too easy at the minute.

 

Idk maybe jagex could make a casino but make it so you need a facebook account signed to show you are over a certain age? I know not many are fans of the fb thing and some kids could make fake fb accounts but it would be a start

 

Bad idea, that's basically making it okay for players to gamble

 

At least that could give some control over it.Gambling isn't bad if you are of the right age and don't get carried away.Im sure jagex could limit the amount spent or how much time is spent.Was just an idea I could play a few slots waiting for my plants to grow on runescape

 

They are blaming the game developers in this article when they should put the blame onto the people making this vulnerable child gamble real money. RWT has gone way too far in my opinion and needs to be ended, imagine runescape with no RWT, it would pretty much close this website down but would make the game much more enjoyable for the younger community which do not understand the consequences of gambling.
