Runescape account recovery issue - sythe rules.

Around mid august I sold an account to another sythe user. Today he messaged me on MSN that the account got locked. I asked him for the current password to confirm, but the password was invalid, meaning the account's password/email were changed (As opposed to the account just getting locked)

He asked me for recovery assistance, which I can give, but I'm unsure whether he actually has tried to sell the account and now wants it back, or if the account just got stolen (which is unlikely).

I'm just wondering what might happen to my sythe account incase this user has actually sold his account and I'd help him take it back.

I'm not sure about the whole situation, and I don't really know how to proceed.

I know for a fact that the original owner has not taken it back, but he will help me recover the account and return it to the user I sold it to if I ask him to.

Any advice on what I should do would be greatly appreciated.

 

If you were the original owner when you sold it, and if he is the only one you ever gave access to the account you probably shouldn't help him. It can only mean that he tried to sell the account. Unless of course his computer was hacked. Do some research, try to find whether he was selling the account or not.

 

He told me he was selling the account on powerbot, but as far as I know his thread on there is still open. It's just an odd situation.

 

I'd recommend messaging either Global moderator or Market moderator regarding this. It's something that needs to be resolved quickly and notifying the staff as soon as possible might help out if the case gets a little sticky later on down the track.
