RuneScape 3 on 1GB RAM?

I'm getting a few old computers soon from a friend.
Has anyone had luck playing current RS3 with only 1GB of ram and a dual core processor?

 

It's going to be rough.

 

I can imagine. I'll try moving a stick of ram from one to another since they're all the same model hopefully they have the same brand/specs ram.

 

You'll want at least 2gb I think. I'm using 1gb at the moment with the NXT client. Not sure if Java would be better or not. NXT is supposed to better optimized for low performance machines, but my friend plays on a potato and gets better frames on Java compared to NXT. Anyway, yea ff you can swing 2gbs that'd be the best thing.

 

Will try it out with both amounts on the new client when I can thanks.

 

i have a preety shit laptop its around 1gb i dont get any lags its beter then my actual pc which is around 16gb

 

Not sure if that would run RS3 smoothly, 1GB Ram is really low.
Why not upgrade your ram?

You won't be able to be efficient with only 1GB RAM. As others have said, at least 2GB RAM is optimal for RS3 (4GB RAM is best for most client-based games). If you're getting "a few" old computers from a friend, I'd recommend junking them for as much cash as you can and replacing the current RAM with a higher capacity.

 

It's working fine with 2gb ram on the system now. Running smooth with arch linux

 

Shouldnt have problems with 1g on the java client afaik, at least I didn't when I played with 1gb, no idea about the NXT client, that shit sucks ass, i don't use it.
