Runescape 2 Cheating: What to watch out for

General info:

User post count; Look before you download, people do not just join sythe and contribute as their first post, think before you download.

Safe downloads; there is no 100% safe place to download but if you are downloading a public bot be sure it is off a website. Remember that powerbot or rsbots dont use mediafire to upload there bot clients too.

Virus Scans; anyone can post a clean virus scan for any file and many programs that may be harmful to your runescape account may not appear to be harmful to your computer.

Feedback; usually when someone posts something one of the first two or three posts should tell you if the file is good or bad and it is a good idea to check before you find out the hard way.

.exe files; this is NOT a bot and it is very wise not to run this file type.

.Jar files; this is typically the file type of a bot, but can contain malicious code. If you download a cracked script iDungeon or whatever you first have to put it in your rsbot precompiled folder because it will not run by itself.

.java files; this is typically a script, you need to save the code for the bot to run, this file type is completely safe.

.txt files; this is the file type of a text or notepad document all it containes is words and is completely safe.

.rar, .zip, .7z, .tar, .iso files; these file types are just containers (or folders) for other files, they can be opened with a program such as winrar and are safe, their contents are what you have to look at.

1, Cracked Bots.

Many users here create "Cracked Bots" threads advertising what would be a paid or premium bot to be cracked. This is frowned upon posting but it is important to look at post count and fie type of the download, there are few people that will give out free paid or free cracked bots. But they do exist. ​

If this is not already common sense, if its too good to be true, its not. ​

3, Are bots safe?

Remember that not bot for runescape it truly safe. Bots that are newer, paid for or have few users, and that do not interact with other users in runescape tend to be the safest. If you get banned its your fault, nobody else broke any rules for you and it may not be worth it.​

4, Free Membership

We all wish it was so but there is no program or service that can give this to you, if you dont have a way to pay you either need to bot a bit or sell some mills. Sites and programs will be short lived and a waste of time, if you have no way to pay you can always buy a card at wal-mart or a prepaid visa. ​

How to keep your account safe:

1. Set recovery questions
2. Set a bank Pin
3. Hook up an email
4. Don't share with anyone you don't completely trust
5. Use multiple passwords
6. NEVER accept help over teamviewer
7. NEVER log in over teamviewer

If people allow you to log onto your RS account while on their comp via team viewer, and they have a keylogger on themselves , will your keys turn up ? Just wondering ?

just as a note .java files are not completely safe.. they can contain malicious functions ESPECIALLY with powerbot..

Yes, a keylog is basically a monitoring program which monitors the process messages a window recieves.
Now teamviewer sends these messages to the clients computer, thus you're computer does why they are doing.

So in short, yes.
