You guys strongly fail to realize that video games are not branded with the same social stigmas in other parts of the world like they are in the U.S. and Canada.

Also, I doubt this event will be attended by your stereotypical "basement dwelling nerd" as those types of people tend to not be social enough to go to an event like this. The typical European gamer is generally much more socially adept and attractive than most of the children posting in this thread. Little to do with genetics and more to do with cultural upbringing that promotes healthy eating, exercise, and moderation.

I would also compare this to a smaller scale BlizzCon, in which a majority of the patrons are adults. There are more adults playing this game than you would think, and which would Jagex be more apt to cater to? The immature children that require supervision, or the financially stable and legally accountable adults?

 

I think the turnout will be fairly disappointing, especially if children can't come :/

I'm curious to see how much they are going to charge for such an event. Kind of strange they would serve alcohol over letting in minors. Probably to keep kids from asking dumb questions.

 

If I lived in UK I would just go for the hell of it and get smashed lol.

This will be a success. You guys don't realize how many parents, and adults actually do play. Sure, there are people on here that are below the age of 18.. But there are also many that are ^18..just on this site. I personally know 2 ppl who's parents play.. sad.. but true. It will be a good turnout.

 

It's in central London, not Cambridge.

Flights inside the Uk are actually quite cheap, and if you book well in advance the train fares are cheap also.

For starters : childrens game? don't be so up yourself you'd be surprised at how many players are classed as adults.

Second: your just mad because you can't go. if you were old enough and it was in your area you would be jumping for joy, But it's not and you can't so your sitting at your pc trying to take the piss out of it. Grow the fuck up.

I bet you Jagex as a last chance attempt will change the age limit to sell tickets. The events they have listed sound flat out boring. The only reason some people would go is to see Gertjaars irl.

Maybe you got banned on the forums for using the word "are" instead of the word "our". Maybe they did you a favor. Less time on the forums, more time learning your primary language. God help us all when they force you to pick up a secondary language.
