The Introduction!
This guide is all about mining ess both rune and pure. Includes quests you should do levels you should have etc.

The Beginning
In order to mine ess rune or pure you have to do Rune Mysteries quest. This is a very simple quest and takes around 5 minutes to do. You can find an guide on almost any Runescape site. After doing the quest you have access to the essence mines which you can teleport to by Aubry or some other NPCS in Runescape but in order to mine pure ess you have to have 30+ mining.


What you Need for the Best ess

Essence is simple enough to mine but you might not be doing it as fast as you can. If you want to get the best amount of ess you can get an hour i suggest having at least these requirements 66 magic, Zamorak mini quest done and the best pouches you can use. Also if you would like to be able to teleport to Yanill the watchtower quest.

The Pouches
Now wtf are pouches. Pouches are Pouches(duh) that hold rune or pure essence. These are commonly used in rune crafting so people can craft more runes per trip. There are 4 pouches small,medium,large and giant.(pouch)
All these pouches hold different amount of essences small holds 3, medium holds 6, large holds 9, and giant holds 12. Adding these all up it adds to 30 essence in those pouches and 4 inventory spots taken so a total of 26 extra essence, but you also need rune crafting levels for these pouches. 1 rune crafting for small, 25 for medium, 50 for large, and 75 for giant.

In order to obtain these pouches you have to kill abyssal monsters in the abyss which you can access upon completion of Zamorak mini quest or you can buy from rune crafting guild which will be mentioned below.

The Rune crafting Guild
Some people probably are not a big fan of the rune crafting guild because they are not a fan of RC etc. If you to lazy to go kill abyssal monsters in the abyss you can buy pouches from Wizard Korvak in rune crafting guild. large pouch is 25k and the giant pouch is 50k. He also can repair pouches like the dark mage in the abyss. Don't forget you have to have 50 rune crafting to go in the guild.

What do I Wear?
You want to weigh as light as possible so you need to have boots of lightness(reduces weight by 3kg)
from Temple of Ikov quest, spotted(40 hunt reduces weight by 4kg) or spottier cape(66 hunt reduces weight by 6kg) which is from hunting and also optional is penance gloves which reduce weight by 4kg. This will help you run longer and if you have a high agility your should never run out of run.

Now What do I do?
Ok you can teleport to watch tower(Yanill) upon completion of the watch tower quest which i suggest or you can even teleport to your house if you got a POH in Yanill. If not just grab your duel ring and teleport to castle wars and walk to Yanill as shown below

After you have got to the Yanill bank you should with drawl your boots of lightness, the best pouches you can use, spotted or spottier cape, and penance gloves if you have them and don't forget your pickaxe. You should work your way into the magic guild as shown below if you can also use a wizard mind bomb at level 63 magic to get in or even a magic potion at level 62.

Question:Where do I start Zamorak mini quest?
Answer: Just inside edgevill wilderness in 6 wilderness

Question:Can I get the pouches if I don't have the rune crafting level?
Answer:Yes you can get the pouches but no you can't use them

Question:Is their another place to teleport to mine essence?
Answer:Yes there are many places including Aubry in Varrock, wizard in the wizard tower basement south of Draynor and a few more.

Question:I can't go in the rune crafting guild do you no anyways to kill abyss creatures fast?
Answer: You can take a cannon in their also don't forget the levels don't matter on the creatures the level 51's can drop a giant pouch and so can the 81's

All the Quests and the Stats
The following are all quests and stats that I suggest:
66magic(magic guild)
15 thieving(Watch tower quest)
25 agility(Watch tower quest)
41 mining(Rune picaxe)
14 herb(Watch tower)
Rune mysteries(no requirements)

If you would like help on quests etc. I suggest using Zybez or tip it those are my two personal favorites

Yes, if you kill abyss monsters, you can get any pouch(only 1 of each though)

The abyss monsters will not drop a pouch you do not have the level to use. For example, if you have only 55 runecrafting, you can only get up to a large pouch, you will never ever get a giant pouch from the abyss monsters unless you get 75 runecrafting.

It is possible to get higher level pouches by killing abyss monsters in the abyss even tho you don't have the RuneCrafting level. You can't use them, but they do indeed drop them.

 

This is completely wrong. If you are level 40 rune crafting, you can kill monsters in the abyss for one of each pouch.

However, you cannot of course use it until you have the appropriate level.

Kristian, getting to Yanille really has nothing to do with the guide. Once there the idea is to camp there mining essence. He just made a couple of quick suggestions on how you could get there.

To be technical you can also use one of the 2 nearby fairy rings.

Those who want to get their pouches from the Abyss should kill the Leeches, as they drop pouches more frequently than the others do.

Pouches degrade over time and either vanish or hold fewer essence. When this happens, you can have the pouches repaired by talking to the Zamorak Apprentice in the Abyss.
