In relation to this thread: Oxem asking for account login/email prior to purchase

This is perfectly normal to ask for login information and here's why

1. the buyer expressed his fear of being scammed having being scammed before
2. There is an active DO NOT PURCHASE thread where logins are hosted and posted (List of accounts NOT to purchase; click to report recovered accounts!) and also this website (Best site to report runescape scammed account,runescape scammer names,runescape scammed sellers) which i can provide proof to the validity of the information posted there. Having being scammed myself.


This is clearly stated with the fact the buyer simply asked to see the login name and did not ask for password.

I'd like to know why is there a Do NOT PURCHASE list when the only way to verify the names on the list via after purchasing which is ironic. And why are people getting TWC'd for using common sense in matters like asking to see login information. TWC for taking precaution?

 

What that was sketchy about (I assume) is that the URL was showing. If he did not show the URL, he would asked to see it to see it was a legit one. After that, he could manually type in the URL, change the password himself, then have access to the account if he was given the e-mail used to login. It's a very simple scam-tactic that many do not realize is a thing.

 

as far as I know he was trying to get @Hex to send a full screenshot of the email change screen so he could type the URL, attach his email and then login and take the gold, surprised he only gets a TWC when its outright attempted scamming: Potential scammer

Yeah it's a scam, he should be banned not TWC'd. Pretty obvious. People have been trying to do this for years.

 

First time im hearing about it, and now im of the same opinion. TWC is pretty low.

 

I've raised his TWC to a DNT, hes clearly up to no good
