Rule Reform: Abolish Perm Signature Violations

If you have to be warned 3 times, and on the 4th you lose it. You must be an idiot to keep going. You think rules are there to be pushed? You're gonna complain because you lost your signature privilege? Seems a little one sided. How many times can you constantly fuck up a size? Maybe look into the size of signature you're posting BEFORE YOU POST IT.

This is a good rule, if you cant learn after 4 chances, you probably don't deserve a signature anyways. Waste of staff time to keep babysitting your signature.

 

Although it takes a certain kind of stupid to get to that point I think perm sig disable is harsh on a trading forum.

 

Just posted a poll for this in SL. How did you get a fourth violation? Didn't think it was possible to be that careless.

 

Did not even know OP had a fourth violation. Just read title and posted my opinion. Now I feel bad. Lets just give him his signature back if he agrees to the name change: Short Bus

Over the span of nearly 3 years when u change ur signature literally 10-15 times a year due to ur site it happens.

Since they never expire the fuckup's accumulate and never go away lol.

 

Keep in mind due to advertising on RSPS toplists I have literally 6-8 sizes of each banner I use.

Other companys don't have this problem because its 1 size & done, In my case I need to have everything from a 150x150 to 468x90 to a 728x90 done lol.

It gets irritating when I put the wrong size in there(like I did the last time was a 720x90) and then over nearly 3 years my mistakes never go away.


IT'S NOT LIKE THE LITTLE EXTRA BIT ON MY SIGNATURE IS SOME DEVIOUS PLOT BY ME TO GET MORE CUSTOMERS, I DONT THINK THE EXTRA 50 PIXELS MATTERS!

I don't see how carelessness should lead to a changing of a rule.

Is it really THAT hard to take a few extra minutes to make sure your signature is up to standards?

I'm glad you're cool with it. Some staff are militant Nazi's when it comes to signatures.

 

I'm a nazi for height, I've been known to infract for as much as a couple pixels. Aside from that, width I generally ignore as long as it's not obnoxiously large.

 

Expiring infractions I'm all for.

Taking away the rule for multiple active violations I'm not. It's not about how the extra pixels are going to attract more customers and what not -- it's about the principle this rule sets and that staff are suppose to enforce rules, without playing favorites or leniciacy on certain situations.

 

ive had a few users warned to adjust their signature but given zero infractions for it. We have to enforce it but nazi style completely isnt the way to go

 

I didn't even know this was a thing, perhaps it shouldn't be permanent but in all honesty you have to be simply careless or intentionally doing it to hit the 4th offense. I'm more or less indifferent to the rule staying as is or being removed. But seriously it's nobody's fault but your own that you managed to make it all the way to the 4th offense?

 

Already pointless but yeah, should be removed.

 

Nazi style isn't the way to go but after someone constantly disregards the rules, I think some sort of punishment should be made. It is the principle of the rule, after all. You can only warn a user so much before it just becomes a nuisance and you can't really "let it go" for too long.

No support. The average person would realize their mistake after the 1st violation and never do it again. Anyone that violates the rules 4 times simply doesn't deserve to have a signature.

On a side note I've been a member for ~5 years now and haven't violated the signature size even once.

 

This isn't up for supporting/no supporting anymore.

It's in the USL staff's hands now.

Has been for the past 10 days the suggestion was approved in terms of moving on to a USL staff poll already.
