Don't try to sound smart about thing you don't know. The UK isn't part of the Euro dumbass. The PIGS (Portugal, Greece, Ireland and Spain) are suffering and they are in the Eurozone crisis. A very smart woman named Margret Thatcher decided (against the pressure she was under) not to go in for the Euro, thus our Economy is no where nearly as damaged as my of the Eurozone countries.

Also please don't start an Economics argument with someone who has a degree in that specific field. As it stands:

USA National Debt: USD$16,521,000,000
UK National Debt: USD$1,129,000,000

(This is only public debt, if you want private debt as well you're down and out of this argument buddy)

America's debt is far worse, and it is predicted to take 9x as long for the country to revive itself, compared with the UK who have already seen positive economic growth in the last two quarters of 2012, meaning technically, we are out of a recession.

Also you want me to read a history book? I think you need to take a look at a map and see that both Greece and Russia aren't the Uk's neighbours. On top of this, Russia is in the BRICS (The 5 countries who are experiencing the most economic growth), and both the UK and Russia aren't part of the Euro (Sterling and Russian Rubble, respectively)

As I said, 1/5 of Americans are unable to put daily food on the table, 1/3 of Americans cannot afford basic healthcare, and 16% of people in America live below the poverty threshold, according to the ONS (Office of National Statistics), 11.8% of Britains live below the poverty threshold. On top of this you mention the private sector? Privatisation of many transport markets such as Bus and Rail have expanded these markets by over 3%. There is growth, and if you want to prove me wrong get some proper statistics rather than your biased opinions.

No one's country is the greatest, every single one has it's flaws. The UK isn't perfect, I detest the UK in fact. However I cannot stand people who are so ignorant to see both sides of the coin.

You do realize that we or you are going to get out of debt period. At all, unless extremely severe measures are taken, which we know will never happen. For either country.
