I was banned for offsite blackhat related to activities I partook in several years ago. I have never done anything blackhat on sythe, nor do I currently partake in blackhat activities. I am actually a security researcher by trade, and do work to help keep the providers of services secure. I can link staff to some websites that verify this with acknowledgement pages for bug reports if a staff member gets in contact with me.
The ban policy here is ridiculous, and anyone who has any idea about internet security is banned even for things they did several years ago on other sites. Just because I am a hacker (yes, white hats are still hackers) and I had done unsavory things in the past I was banned for blackhatting. I never used blackhat methods against anyone on sythe, and I had never given anyone a reason to go after me. I was only banned because someone decided it was worth their time to single me out and build a case. Yes I used to be a malware developer. Yes I used to post on hackforums. I do neither of those things anymore, and if you check the profile that was reported you will see that it hasn't posted anything remotely blackhat in over a year.
I own the site rspunit, which is dedicated to bug abusing on runescape private servers in order to get profit. That's the extent of the "blackhat hacking" I do, and last I checked cheating in games was the main point of this forum. Yes my website runs a database lookup as yousuckv2 reported. The database lookup uses entirely public databases, which have already been leaked. There is nothing illegal or blackhat about using this information now that it has already been made public.
