What would people say the best platform is to run bots on? I've setup bots on a linux Cent OS and they seem to use about the same amount of CPU usage.

With a VPS, you really do want the maximum resources to be devoted to your bot, so it's Linux all the way since it's very lightweight.

I was looking at buying a cheap dual core, VPS are not really worth the money and they are slow for me as Australian internet isn't great and i live on an island called tasmanian which makes it worse, I'm thinking cent os.

I had trouble running the bot without terminal is it possible?

Well where you live doesn't matter, just buy a VPS located in the US. Your internet won't have any effect on VPS performance. in fact if your internet is bad, you would want a VPS since they're probably using a better internet connection.

It can be better to buy a computer though, if I had the money I'd just buy a computer, I hate dealing with VPS's

Its more to do with setting up the bots, i find it so slow using a remote program, ive used a australian VPS which was ok but $50 a month with only 2gb of ram is $$$$.

Linux is generally faster, cheaper, and more stable than Windows.

So I suggest using Linux if you are using it for botting. :D
